Flip 36 - don’t trust the advertisement

The Goal Zero Flip 36 is the worst electronic product I have purchased, but I guess you get what you pay for? I am just disappointed because it never worked the way you advertised. I took great care of it and it just stopped working within 6 months of use. It never seemed to recharge my iPhone “up to 3 times” lucky if I got 1 full charge and now the unit itself won’t even recharge. Not to mention, the fold-out usb port is a terrible design - very weak and just waiting to break. Now that I’m looking for a more heavy duty portable charger, how could I even entertain Goal Zero after such an experience with their entry level product never performing to how it’s advertised? Did I get a defective unit?

Perfect power pack!

These are great. I loaded up with several and the little docking port. They are powered up and ready to go all the time.

Not durable

Charging port (flip) breaks. Not immediately but shortly after 1 year warranty runs out. Tons of better bank chargers for less money that last much longer.

Flip 36

I have a flip 24, I bought the flip 36 because i wanted to get more charges for my phone, my phone, the flip 36 gives me the same charging, but I do love the charging plug for both flip 24 and flip 36.

Worked great on backpack trip

Bought this to use while backpacking. Over 4 days and 3 nights it charged my phone and gopro batteries a couple of times and had power left over. Still working well a year later.

Useless brick

I used this no more than 5 times before it stopped recharging. The flip up USB is a terrible design flaw. I thought I might have gotten a faulty unit until I started reading others reviews. Same problems all around. Don't waste your money.

Terrible design

I got two of these thinking I could get used to the design flaws, NOPE! It’s just terrible, where you plug to in to the Solar panel is a usb on a swivel which can and definitely will break. There is no way to take it off the Solar panel the softly as to not damage it. Just get a venture 35 it’s worth the extra money and works really well.
