Barely works

I really wanted to like these battery packs after hearing a ton of highly acclaimed reviews about the GOALZERO brand but I am left disappointed for having received a product that does not work as advertised or barely at all. Taking over 12 hours to charge using the recommended dock and going from full to empty after charging my phone once from 5% to 45%.

Great for road trips.

So glad I purchased the Flip 24 . I have used it many times. When the Flip 24 is fully charged, I can get at least two full phone charges with it. I even bought one for my daughter

Compact and Reliable

I have owned and used two Flips 24 for almost 3 years and they are still going strong. With a compact design, 6700 mAh, and 130g (4.6 oz) weight the Flip 24 strikes a really good balance. Pass-through charging is nice to have and the battery level indicator is intuitive. I have used them constantly, from mountain hiking and running to multi-day ultra endurance races: they never failed me. All things considered, great rechargers even if by now the specs are beginning to be dated. I hope the next upgrade will include PD/QC fast charging, a USB-C port, and ideally at least an IPX4 or IPX5 rating against water ingress.

Great for carrying in my pack

I bought two of these to alternate in my pack for mountain rescue to recharge my cellphone and my Garmin InReach, both of which we use for mapping, navigation and communication with our team leads. There are a ton of products like this on the market, but I have had great experience with GoalZero in the past and liked the ability to through-charge with a solar panel, if needed. The first test was more low-key: a family vacation to Disney World. We were constantly using our phones for way-finding, staying in touch amongst our group of 10 and booking things like rides and dining reservations. The Flip 24 was small and easy to carry around in a backpack or pocket, and we were able to recharge our phones a few times each day, which was awesome, as well as some portable fans to beat the heat.

Works well with Nomad 5

I have a Nomad 5 with both flip 12 and flip 24 power banks. The flip 12 doesn't really hold enough to fully charge my iPhone X. Last month I had the iPhone battery replaced by Apple so I know my phone's battery is not the issue. The flip24 takes about 6-8 hours to charge from the Nomad 5 and about 3 hours or so to charge the iPhone. It works great around base camp or at any stationary setup. Can definitely keep your phone going while hiking off-grid. I also use it to charge my Garmin watch (I run marathons) and my Bose micro speaker as well as AirPods. For the price its a no-brainer if you spend any time outside and want to keep your gear charged. It also does pass thru charging so you can use the included clip to hook it to a backpack with the flip24 snapped into the Nomad 5 and a cable going from the flip24 to your phone in a side pocket of the pack. Pretty cool! I see some people have snapped and broken their flip24. I am very careful and have't had any issues. Hope this helps. Also in the pics you can see the Nomad 5 typically gets 4.6-4.8 volts in full sun. 4 stars. I would go 5 if the hinge was more robust.

Great Flip 24

Easy to use, useful and portable. It could be a bit smaller in size.

Backpacking essential

I've used this backpacking and it is quick and convenient way to charge my phone and my watch. Kept me charged through a 3 day trip.

Works Great

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have used the Flip 24 charger a couple of times since purchasing it last month. It worked great to charge my phone and Suunto watch during breaks on long day hikes. Charging speed is adequate and 4 blue lights indicate the approximate percentage of power left on the device. I have not had a problem charging the device directly into a USB port. It was exactly what I was looking for to use on day hikes. Probably not the best for backpacking trips longer than 2 or 3 days.

Works fine, big design flaw

It does what you want it to do just fine. However the only connection to charge it is a male USB so it must be plugged directly into a laptop or goalzero solar panel to charge it. the lack of a more typical micro USB port that would allow using a cable makes the situations where it can be charged too limited. I?ll probably have to return it and buy something else. Too bad as it?s the perfect size for my needs.
