I learned after ordering these that Giro is notorious for low volume cycling shoes. Some people like that "one with the pedal" feel but I found it too restricting on top of my toes. I switched to the Giro Ventana (also 45) which uses a different shoe last more like their normal shoes and the fit was much better. Maybe just ordering up 2 sizes or so would have been enough but I love the Ventana!

If you are looking for a clipless shoe that has more of a trail running feel, this is a great option! The sole is stiffer than a regular training shoe, but the upper is still has a nice comfy feeling. These just didn't quite fit right for me. I ended up going with the SHIMANO SH-MT7 Cycling Shoe.
