As Giordana revisited its line of cycling kit for 2016, sourcing new fabrics and making careful improvements to fit, it chose to reorganize the tiers around types of cyclists rather than along a vertical scale based on price, quality, and experience. This translated into a range of well-crafted kit tailored to specific types of riding rather than beginner, recreational, and racing kit. Like the rest of its line, the Lungo Short Sleeve Men's Jersey is created with high end materials laid-up in a slightly more relaxed fit, ideal for what Giordana is referring to as the "refined" rider. We don't all need to be logging every training ride or weekend charity ride in compressive, skin-tight race kit.
Rather than sticking to the same cycling-specific fabrics for 2016, Giordana turned to the swim and undergarment industries for a fresh take on athletic fabrics. It developed proprietary blends that resemble their non-cycling ancestors in their ability to dry quickly and wick moisture but without feeling anything like a bathing suit. The supple, soft fabric that constitutes the Lungo achieves a tailored, close fit that's slightly more forgiving than the NX-G or Forma Red Carbon lines. Giordana also takes the extra step of crafting the shoulders in a hammerhead design to reduce bunching and flapping fabric when you're stretched out in the drops.
Giordana had longer rides and weekend escapes in mind when creating the Lungo, so it graced it with the traditional three rear pockets, two additional side pockets, and a small zippered pocket on the rear for carrying all the nutrition and supplies you'll need to stay out for hours. It also didn't skimp on reflectivity; the jersey features reflective bands along the arms and on the rear to ensure you stay seen by other road users in a range of conditions. Finally, smaller details like a soft jacquard elastic waistband and a full-length zipper made to be operated with one hand work together to enhance the fit and function of this well-executed, enviable addition to the "refined" rider's wardrobe.

- Q & A
- Fit: Runs small
Giordana Sportswear was founded by Italian pro cyclist Giorgio Andretta 35 years ago (he still looks amazingly fit, btw). Today, Giordana is still family owned and operated. Now by Andretta and his adult children (including daughter, Giordana, who he named the company after).
Anyway... Giordana gear is made in Italy (near Vicenza, Giorgio's hometown), in their own factory. This is rare and VERY important. This facilitates the high quality and QC found with Giordana gear.
This jersey beautifuly matches Giordana's awesome Lungo bibshorts. Love the 6 rear pockets too.
P.S. -For 2017, Giordana is supplying both UCI pro teams Astana and Orica/Scott.
This jersey rocks and is "luxurious"
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I was very interested in the new kit being put out by Giordana now that they have their own factory and doing cool things such as thermabonding. I thought the layout of five back pockets plus the sixth (might as well say phone holder) might be a nice variation for people who do long rides. I rode in an event today and wow, nicest jersey I have ever owned. The jersey material feels like nothing, wicks really well, and truly feels luxurious. While technically not a race fit, it is form fitting and not a sack-o-tater flapping jersey. The pictures don't do this jersey justice. I bought the blue orange fluo. At first I wondered will all these pockets really work right or not. I love it. The far left and right pocket do not really stick out to the side to make some goofy side bulges. From far left to far right I had it this set up: bandana; bag with energy gels; bag with license, tool, lens wipes and paper towel; cell phone; and keys. Actually makes the back pockets slimmer in profile and everything has it own pocket. Brilliant! One of the best purchases I have made. I have a 44 in. chest, am 6 feet, and weigh 205lbs. I bought the XXL because Giordana tends to be on the small side.
