    Support where you need it.

Most riding isn’t racing, but that's an idea that's been somewhat lost on compression bib short design in the past; most racing bibs aren’t been generous to areas of the body that ask for slightly more real estate. Giordana redesigned its Lungo Men’s Bib Shorts with this in mind, adding a breathable and flexible bib strap in the front, while the rear strap remains less forgiving.

This construction allows you freedom to stand comfortably and not be pulled into an aero walking position. There is also stretch in the waist for those mid-ride lunch stops and a bit more room added to the front. The single seam legs panels, seamless leg bands, and Cirro S chamois provide support and refinement, while the gently compressive body material provides a form-fitted silhouette that reduces bulk and muscle fatigue while riding.

    • Comfort-focused bib shorts for everyday luxury
    • Generous waist fits non World Tour bodies
    • Chamois designed to support and protect male anatomy
    • Gently compressive legs reduce fatigue on long rides
    • Lie-flat bibs stretch in front and support in back
    • Minimal seams and elastic-free cuff increase comfort

    All-day Go-to!

These are the bibs that I instinctively grab when I'm going out on a 100-mile Saturday ride. I love the lightweight, forgiving material in the shoulder straps. The shorts have compression, but are not a race-compression. The chamois is substantial, without being too bulky. The top layer material on the chamois is such that creme is not needed. I machine-wash mine with sport wash in a lingerie bag, or by hand in the sink, and air dry. Take care of them, and they will last you many seasons.

This is a well worth money spending bib short. I own Assos, Poc, Sugoi, among other top brands, and none has the comfort this one provides on long rides. It might not be with as much compression as their NX-G or FR-C lines, but good enough for 60 + miles rides. The shoulder straps might feel tight when put on, but once you are riding, you do not feel they are there. That is why many people feels they run small. If you are for instance between M and L like in my case, go, with L to be on the safe side. Again, Giordana is way superior than Assos. Assos is much more money for what is offered. Assos is more a well marketed brand, than comfort. Once you buy a Giordana, you will be thrilled by its quality. I also recommend fully any Sugoi bib short, especially the Evolution and RS Pro line. Much less money than other brands, and much better product.

    Good Pair of Shorts

For the price, not worth it. The shorts are okay but the insert is lacking. I've been a long time fan of Giordana but this just continues its trend of raising prices for cheaper quality shorts. Don't get me wrong. They are perfectly fine (but not great). Just way overpriced.

    Love Giordana products!

I wasn't sure why this basic plain looking bib shorts were so expensive but after trying them on I know why. They feel fantastic when you ride and you completely forget about bib shorts. Design is very plain and looks like any other ordinary shorts but the fabric material is top notch. Fabric has the right balance between weight, thickness, and stretch. chamois is top notch as well. One of the most comfortable shorts I've worn period. I only buy Giorgana now.

    Great Bibs

These bibs are really amazing. They feel just great on the bike. I have sprinters thighs and they fit tightly, but not too tight. The shoulder straps could have used another centimeter of length to be perfect, but they are still fine.

Giordana was founded by Italian pro cyclist Giorgio Andretta 35 years ago (he still looks amazingly fit, btw). Today, Giordana is STILL family owned and operated. Now by Andretta and his adult children -including daughter, Giordana, who he named the company after.

Also, Giordana gear is made in Italy (near Vicenza, Giorgio's hometown), in their own factory. This is very rare in cycling and I think an important advantage. This facilitates the very high quality and QC you will find with Giordana gear.

As much as I like Castelli kit (and I do), none is made in Italy (except their socks). It's all made in various far away factories (mostly throughout Asia); thus the QC is maddenly inconsistent. That kinda sucks.

High-end bike shop employees will often say (arguably) that the top three road cycling kit makers currently today (based on design and function) are: Assos, Giordana, and Castelli. All three have been worn in the pro peloton for 35+ years.

Castelli makes great stuff (esp jackets like the Gabba), but has some QC consistency issues. Assos is great stuff of course (especially bibshorts), but often strangely marketed and priced pretty high for made in Bulgaria (not Italy), and is starting to come in one color: black.

That's why I like Giordana. Exceedingly well designed and made in Italy by a family who takes *personal pride* in the QC and quality of their products.

These Lungo bibshorts are fantastic. They are clearly inspired by Assos' benchmark Equipe bibshorts (the strap design, and the Copa Mondiale front 'pocket'). And that is a good thing.

With fantastic quality, materials, minimal seams, and the Copa front, these bibshorts just disappear as you wear them on the bike.

There are no better bibs made.

P.S. -For 2017, Giordana is supplying both UCI pro teams Astana and Orica/Scott.

This is the best review I've read in awhile. Thanks for doing your homework Jonny and passing all this great info along to us. Indeed, in this day and age, it's rare to find a company that still produces in Italy. We can only hope Giordana holds out indefinitely in this regard.

Outstanding shorts !!! I purchased these about two weeks ago, after 500 miles I have to say they are the most comfortable bibs I've owned. At first look they appear kind of basic in construction however after wearing them for the first time you realize they are very well made ( made in Italy !!!) and are constructed out of the best materials. Some shorts have numerous panels sewn together which after wearing these mean nothing. Super chamois and excellent leg support !!! Bravo Italia !!!
