When knocking out base miles in deep winter, layering is key. The Giordana Fusion Jacket offers substantial winter coverage with a regular fit that isn't cut as tightly as their form-fitting AV-series jackets, leaving you room to layer appropriately for the weather at hand. With the right layering (and depending on personal cold tolerance), we find jackets like this can push below 30 degrees Fahrenheit, but you're certainly safe for rides below 40.
The Fusion jacket uses a tightly-knit microfiber shell that blocks wind, with a DWR treatment to shed moisture and road spray. The outer fabric is bonded to a windproof and water-resistant membrane that keeps the cold out and your body heat in, with a fleece liner that further aids in preserving warmth. Thermal fabric on the back panel, under the arms, and inside the collar traps heat while remaining breathable for more intense efforts. Giordana finishes the jacket with three cargo pockets and a zippered rear pocket for essentials, as well as reflective accents to enhance your visibility to traffic in low light.

perfect right now
Writing this in November, temps I've been riding the Fusion jacket in have been 40-55 and has been great. I used the Giordana long sleeve ceramic base layer and was good when I started my last ride at 38 deg F. and finished at 52 deg F. I'm thinking I could wear this combo a little lower than that, or even lower with a heavier layering. The Fusion jacket almost feels like a hardshell material but doesn't feel like that on, it's very comfortable. It's a tight enough fit, not baggy at all, no wind flapping, but not skin tight. I am 5'7" 130 lbs and wear a size S.

Terrific light jacket
Terrific light jacket for mild to cool dry weather rides. I am a taller rider with an heathy upper body, arms, chest and shoulders and have a really tough time finding anything that fits. I have yet to fit into any of Castelli’s garments. The jacket’s sleeves are nice and long and has a very comfortable rider fit will still being quite form fitted. The jacket is typically ItalDesign one or so size smaller than American garments so order accordingly.
