    Freestanding 12 Boot Dryer

    It's the age-old dilemma any skier or snowboarder faces after a powder day: either dry your gear next to a wood stove and risk melting your gear, or pile it around the furnace and roll the dice on waking up to soggy gloves and liners in the morning—better yet, invest in the Gear Dryers Freestanding 12 Boot Dryer and know all your gear will be warm and dry when it's time to suit up in the morning.

    Gear Dryers is a Utah-based company founded by a couple of skiers and general outdoor enthusiasts who saw a need for a dependable gear-drying system in the outdoor industry. The system consists of a heavy-duty steel unit that's fitted with twelve individual drying ports that deliver 200CFM of warm air to your gear to ensure everything is dry by the time you're ready to use it again. Five pre-programmed dry cycles can be set between 15 and 30 minutes or 1, 2, and 24 hours. And while the system is ideal for drying ski and snowboard gear, the twist-lock port design allows the drying ports to be customized to dry everything from fly fishing waders, snowmobile boots, and work clothes.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

    If you have gear that you wear day in and day out, this will make your life better. Ski/snowboard boots, running shoes, gloves, etc. If you sweat in them, this thing will dry them out pronto, which can seriously extend the life of your gear. These things aren't cheap, but they're definitely built to last. Plus, it feels good to support a legitimate independent business that's headed up by a Backcountry alumnus. I was skeptical at first, but consider me a convert. I see this being a staple of my gear room for many years to come.

    Love versatility of drying ski boots

      Love versatility of drying ski boots, gloves, hats, boots and running shoes!
      Relatively quiet
      Very efficient and takes up small space considering the number of things it can dry at one time.
      Perfect for outdoor individuals and families who spend time in snow and wet weather.
      And eliminates wet gear being scattered all over the house to dry.
      Highly recommend!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

      Once upon a time, I bought a pretty crappy, low quality single boot dryer from Backcountry. And it cost me over $80. It lasted one season. I was not about to repeat that mistake. Boot dryers across the board seem to be pretty low in quality and astonishingly high in price. The GearDryer is a bit different. It's an entire gear drying system that can actually be used for ALL your gear, not just ski and snowboard gear. I initially got one for my ski gear because I ski around 100 days per year, often for work and need dry/warm gear to get through the entire day. I found that I use it for far more things than I thought I would. Here are some surprising things I was able to dry with my GearDryer unit.

      * Camping water jug

      * Sun Shower after camping

      * Hydration bladder (No MORE MOLD!!!!)

      * Mountain biking shoes

      *Rain boots/muck boots

      * Mountain biking gloves

      * Hiking boots/running shoes

      * Fly Fishing waders & boots

      This is in addition to the ability to completely tweak and dial the different ports of the GearDryer to fully dry 2 ski or snowboarding kits. This thing hold permanent residence in my mud room and is constantly humming on winter evenings. I like the ability to tailor the drying time cycle and add heat or not. For example, I always use heat on my ski boots but I leave the heat off whenever I'm drying my hydration bladder. This product is so versatile, durable, and features insanely better quality than any boot dryer I've wasted my money on in the past. Treat this as a one time $$ investment and it will serve you and your family for years to come. I'm super happy with mine. Friends are always jealous and house guests who visit to come skiing in Utah are ALWAYS psyched.

      Had mine for 2 years now, absolutely zero issues with performance and durability.
