Why We Like The Garmin inReach Mini 2
The inReach Mini 2 gives us the same compact communication means as its predecessor but now with loads more battery life and features. Rather than lasting hours, it lasts days, letting us use it for much more than just check-ins on our multi-day missions. With the new ability to sync with Garmin Explorer, we can plan our course on the computer screen and save it to this palm-sized device. As we venture well beyond cell coverage, the new electronic compass gives us an accurate heading as we stand still, while the addition of Galileo gives us a quicker and more precise satellite lock, even with some tree cover. If we get turned around, the addition of TracBack routing helps us find our way.

Pretty happy
Bought a month or so ago so still learning but seemed to work pretty good. Was able to get updated accurate weather both hourly and next 2-3 days. Was able to send text messages and locations. Battery held up well. Only issue is that others did not also have.

Connectivity!
This is a great upgrade from the Mini 1. Staying connected to home while I'm out in the wild is important feature. The Mini 2 connection to the phone is more stable and seems to to pick up the saddle lights quicker too. Battery life is really a plus also. The Garmin Explorer app is an upgrade over Earth Mate also.

Great Purchase
I bought this a couple months ago and I am glad I did. This has been a great tool for my off-grid adventures. The trackback feature is a great safety in case you get yourself lost and the communication ability is fantastic. Once I get more into the other tools I am sure I will enjoy it even more.

Very useful tool
I bought my InReach and used it during our late deer and elk late hunt. Got it for piece of mind after having some heart issues. Mostly, it’s awesome. I have been unable to get it to connect with my computer (Mac) but have it linked to the app on my phone. We tested it with me way out in the back country and it performed just great! It may not save your life (but it might!) but it will make it easy to find me if the heart does give out, verses looking for me for weeks.

Small and Powerful
I have had a Mini and a Mini 2 for several years and it works great and is small enough to take with you anywhere.

Compact inReach
We had the Montana 700i to have both inReach and mapping but found OnX on the iPhone much easier to use for tracking and mapping and the 700i is too bulky to move from vehicle to vehicle (we’re in Montana where cell signal is spotty so need the inReach). The Mini 2 provides our inReach access and extends iPhone messaging capabilities when out of cell service. And the battery life is amazing.

Paid for it’s self already
I bought the mini 2 for a just in case anything ever happens. Well about a week later I was up hunting in the mountains and broke my leg. Got through to a friend and search and rescue via messenger. Help arrived fast thanks to the inreach mini 2.
