My First Carbon Probe

This my first carbon avalanche probe. My other is aluminum. I really like the feel, the ease of deployment and the sturdiness of this probe, once it is deployed. For a carbon probe, it is pretty rugged. I ordered the G3 carbon 300. It is just over 10 feet long. It compacts to about 20.5 inches and weighs 11.39 ounces in its protective bag. The only item I do not like about this probe, in fact all probes that I have looked at, is the cable loop that flops around at the top, once deployed and in use. This probe has the smallest loop of them all though. In order to fix this, the probe would have to be reengineered. It is just a pet peeve that I have, but I can live with it. I also use this probe as an antenna mast for my ham radio antenna, when doing SOTA in the backcountry. At the top of a peak, it works great for holding up the wire end of my antenna. All in all, I like this probe a lot. I would recommend it to anyone that would need it and I would certainly purchase it again.
