    Awesome Glue

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Applying new glue is much cheaper than buying new skins will make them as sticky (or stickier) than they were when you first got them. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time and don't rush the process or you the finished product won't turn out well. I'd recommend watching this video before attempting:

    Reduce and reuse.

These are a good way to go if you're looking to the extend the life of your climbing skins. The glue applies fairly easy, but the hard part is removing the old glue, which is a real pain in the ass. Put enough beer down your gullet and you should manage fine, though.

    Easy to apply

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This was very easy to apply as long as you have a waxing iron. Just make sure to get the glue warm enough to melt into the skins. Taking the old glue off was the real challenge. I would recommend this product if your skins still have life but your glue does not

    Worked out great

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have the G3 alpinist skins and this worked great for a refresh on the glue. My skins were in great shape, but the glue wasn't sticking anymore. The glue renew was cheaper than buying another pair of skins, so I went for it.

The skins come with simple instructions on how to remove the old and apply the new glue. I used some old newspaper, a clothes iron (on high), and a putty knife to remove the old glue. It took a few goes to get it all off. Only thing I wasn't sure about was removing the "ripstrip", but not having one hasn't really been an issue. Removing the old glue was a pain.

Applying the new glue was pretty darn easy and much faster than taking the old stuff off! Again, used the clothes iron to thoroughly melt the glue onto the skins, then once it cooled, removed the backing. I've used the skins a few times since, and it's working out great so far!
