    Alpinist Plus Grip Skin

Constructed out of high-traction nylon to give you reliable grip on super steep ascents and slick, icy skin tracks, the G3 Alpinist Plus Grip Skin is ready for big days in the backcountry. G3's refined adhesive offers dependable stickiness, even after your fifth lap of the day, and the tip attachment's stiff platform also works to prevent any snow from creeping under the skin and compromising the adhesive. The self-aligning tip attachment easily fits the tip of even your fattest skis, while the camming tail clip further adds security to the system, and the adjustable tail strap makes it easy to rip your skins off during transitions.

    • Maximum traction skin for your steepest, slickest ascents
    • High-traction nylon provides reliable grip and durable wear
    • Refined adhesive for a strong bond between skin and ski
    • Alpinist tip attachment securely fits onto any ski tip shape
    • Camming tail clip and adjustable tail strap makes transitions easy
    • Trim tool and skin savers included
    • Item #GGG004B

    Solid Grip

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I got these to replace my G3 Expedition Climbing Skins due to slipping downhill on steeper tracks. Ive only been able to use these a few times but have been very happy with their performance! I would highly recommend these to anyone looking to maximize their grip. The glide is not the best but the trade off for the grip is worth the extra effort.

    Expected More Grip

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Was exceptionally pleased with their performance after the first handful of uses. However, the more I use them, the less hyped on them I've become. They do great skinning up groomers and when breaking trail. Transition to a worked-in skin track with any loose snow on top of the track and you'll start to slip. Expected a whole lot more grip from a product with Grip in the name. Would most likely not purchase again.

Perfect for slick, steep skin tracks. Not so ideal for less steep, smooth skin tracks or skinning up the groomers at the resort. That said, if you buy the Grip skins, the expectation should be that they'll be quite grippy and not glide so much. The plastic tip didn't perfectly align with the skin itself, so the cut was slightly awkward, however, this has not negatively affected their performance. So far, very pleased with their performance and durability.

    perfect for steep skin tracks

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

After slipping on some of the steep uphills at my local resort (for uphill at resorts we have to straight line) I tried the G3 Grip Skins and it made a huge difference! They might not glide as fast as some but when stuff gets steep, these things rock. I went with the 145 and trimmed them down for my 99’s so I have as much skin from tip to tail as I need.
