Going back to the drawing board, they sought to achieve heightened sensitivity levels, but without sacrificing support across large obstacles and trail impediments. Their solution for this lofty achievement? Give the Fox 34 Float 29 120 3Pos-Adj FIT4 Boost Fork (51mm Rake) a new damper tune with a reconfigured shim stack for greater sensitivity to small bumps. Following suit, the Float air spring is revised with EVOL tech (increased negative air spring volume) borrowed from FOX's EVOL rear shocks. This reduces the initial force required to initiate travel for heightened levels of small-bump sensitivity.

The 34 Float is an ideal match for your mid-travel 29er with its 34-millimeter stanchions providing just the right amount of stiffness for precise tracking across the rough stuff—all while maintaining a relatively light feel when you're climbing for hours and slogging long miles through the backcountry. This particular version of the 34 Float 29 enjoys the buttery-smooth treatment of Kashima-coated stanchions, which also work to increase its small-bump sensitivity. Boost axle standards give your 29er a rock-solid feel across jarring rocks and root-infested trails.

The big story with the 34 Float 29 Fork is its Fit4 damper with 3-Position Adjust. The 3-Position Adjust quickly changes high and low-speed compression to suit your local terrain and riding style. In the Open setting, fluid freely flows through the low-speed compression circuit and high-speed compression shim stack for a supple feel that's perfect for wicked descents and technical terrain. In the Open setting, you'll find 22 clicks of additional low-speed compression tuning for getting its feel just right. Turning the knob to Medium firms things up a bit for greater efficiency on long climbs and smoother trails. And for fire roads and asphalt road approaches, the Firm mode virtually locks it out, complete with a blow-off shim stack that prevents damage in case you forget to unlock it on the trail.
