Perfect Protection but Uncomfortable

I purchased these knee pads for myself. As a woman with a fuller lower body and thicker thighs I have a lot of trouble finding knee pads that stay on and are comfortable. I figured the velcro straps would provide me consist fit adjustments as opposed to a slip on style that are always riding down on me after being stretched out after a few wears. First off, the measurements, do not go beyond a size L and according to the measurements, I would need an XL. I went with the L and of course the top strap around the thigh did not close and the bottom strap around my calf was too large and wants to go past the velcro. I added a piece of velcro as an extension and it worked well. After some time, a combination of losing some weight during the bike season and stretching the pads out, they finally close in the back. However, there is constant irritation on the back of my thigh from the velcro rubbing. I like these pads a lot because I do not have to slip them on, I can adjust as they stretch out and I do not need to take my shoes on and off to get these on or off. These are the only pads for a decent price with the style that I prefer. They are pretty comfortable on trail rides and serve a great amount of protection after a few spills with them. I know these are not women specific but it's really hard as woman to find pads that I like and are comfortable!
