Pedaling is difficult when your knees are trashed.

Go big or go home, but don’t go home for the season. The Fox Launch Pro Knee Pad will make sure that you get to go home after going big, rather than going to the hospital. Silicone grip behind the knee keeps the pad from slipping down your leg or shifting in flight, and the pre-curved ergo fit sits comfortably without bunching. The perforated neoprene breathes better than Michel Phelps in the final 50 meters, and the elastic straps on the top and bottom could give your old skate pads a lesson in comfort.

    Good pads

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I'm 5'6" 147 lb female. My size is S-M, but I'm glad I ordered size up pads, so L/XL fits me well. I rode wearing them today and I can say I forgot about having them on. My husband rode in those too, he also forgot about wearing them. So they are comfortable. The only thing is not so good, they look bulky on me, but that's no a big deal. I didn't crash today, but they saved my knees multiple times from pedals with sharp pins.

    Great MID LEG protection

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

While I’ve only used these pads for one ride, it was a wet and sloppy 2 hour, 17 mile ride with 2K ft of climbing. The only issue I experienced was chaffing in the bend behind the knee when they became wet and the large opening in the back began collecting dirt/sand/grit. If you spend a lot of time on wet trails, it might be a solid idea to stitch the hole closed with a light, soft piece of fabric. The guard’s functionality really shined when I slid out in a ROCKY corner. My hip and ankle took a beating but my knee (specifically, the outside of my knee) was unscathed due to the ample padding on the inside and outside of the gaurds. Additionally, the gaurds were not damaged either.

These are worth every penny of the 60 bucks you’ll pay for them! I would probably be happier with the slimmer/sleeker D30 Launch Pro, but I don’t think they offer the same level protection (lack in/out side knee padding) and I can’t justify the extra $70 based on asthetics alone.

The Fox Racing Launch Pro Knee Guards are the real deal!!!!!!

    Comfortable Protection

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought these for my riding buddy and he loves them! I got the L/XL for him at first but they were too big in the thigh so I exchanged them for the S/M and they worked great! He says they are super comfy and have taken some hard falls from him already! He is 6'0 and 170 lbs and the S/M ended up working out great!

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

As soon as I got them in the mail I tried the L/XL size on. Just wearing them for 15 minutes around the house and sitting was enough to notice chaffing on the back of my calf and thigh that I could tell was not going to get any better. They were moderately priced and had some nice protection. I I'm sure short downhill trips rides would be OK but I was planing on using these for longer rides.

Had to send them back to find some more comfortable ones.

    Perfect affordable protection.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Looked at many different pads after I bruised my knee on my top top tube for the thousandth time. Bought these after I saw the extra padding on sides. Fit bulky at first yet after 1st ride they break in great. No pinching or bunching. I tried on both sizes and went with lg/XL I do not have large legs these run small. My calfs are 14.5 and thighs 17. Very snug on calfs so no slipping off when riding. Like I said a little bulky but the added protection gives confidence on technical single trac.

    No nonsense protection

Very comfortable fit. Don't really think about them being on. Fox makes some of the best stuff out there, think that comes from the motocross side of their business. Hopefully it will be awhile before I have to test these out to see how well they take a crash.

      Great Protection

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

received my XL Knee Pads end of May 2016. I am not a big but they are a tight fit. However after the first ride I did not even notice I had them on. Recently took a spill on a rocky trail. Had I not had them on it would have been major skin damage. These knee pads saved me a trip to the ER. Theygot dirty but did their job and did not even tear. Good protection for the money. One drawback is you have to have shoes off to slide them on and off.
      Satisfied with the performance

No more knee knocking for me!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

I originally ordered TLD Method XC Knee Sleeves. They weren't comfortable and provided very minimal protection, even for bar & stem bangs. I was worried the Fox Launch Pro pads would be overkill, but I can't be happier. Completely forgot about them once I started riding. They're comfortable, easier to put on and offer ample protection. I don't even notice stem & bar bangs. Took a hard digger and nothing happened to me, or the pads. They held up great. I'll definitely feel more confident when I hit the trails in Utah in a few weeks!

No more knee knocking for me!

Great knee pads for riding the lifts

I tried on about 4 different sets of knee pads from backcountry and settled on these ones. They seemed to be the most comfortable while offering great protection. I have lighter weight knee pads that I prefer for pedaling but while riding the lifts these are great. They don't offer much in the way of pedal slam protection but I feel secure in them and am confident that they will help prevent my knees from getting banged up in the event of a fall. If Fox made a lighter weight version of these for enduro I would buy them in a heartbeat.

        Great choice

These knee pads are comfortable, flexible, and provide all the protection one needs when riding. The only thing that could be improved even though it is not especially bad is the breathability. Could just be unavoidable for knee pads this is my second pair and they are better than my previous Sixsixone's. Even on a cool, 65 degree day my knees were pretty sweaty after only one run down the trail. Size chart is on point.

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times
          • Fit: True to size

These pads are surprisingly good for the money. Being on the cheaper end of the spectrum I wasn't expecting much but I've been pleasantly surprised. The opening at the rear of the knee is larger than most so it doesn't pinch/bind up your skin and actually allows for a little more ventilation. The fabric seems tough and hasn't ripped or torn yet. I disagree with others on the sizing, I ordered the small size and they fit as expected.

          Love 'em!

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are super comfortable for pedaling, and have saved my knee from a hard blow today. The fabric ripped just a little bit, but considering the impact this was to be expected. These should still go another season, easily though. My only criticism is that they are a little hot, a little bulky in the pack and do not dry very quickly. Sizing is also a bit wonky. I am in the L/XL size, and I am 5'9 150 lbs and by no means have big legs. They will stretch quite a bit though. I have the Velcro nearly as tight as it can go, but they would stay on without the Velcro as well.

          Solid knee pad

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These things are amazingly comfortable and boost confidence as well. Only caveat is they run small. I don't believe I have big knee/calf, but only the largest size fits me.

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are solid. They have the plastic cups underneath the "durable fabric" to keep it clean looking. Will definitely protect your knees but not shins. Crashed in them already a few times and they are holding up. Also pretty hot for days you want to peddle up, otherwise, super comfy.

          Best comfort/protection combo

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I ride trails, so I pedal up and down on technical terrain, trying to keep up with the guys I ride with, and these are great. Saved my knees from small bruises to big scars. I wear a L/XL size (even though I'm a size 2-4 women clothes) which surprised me, but hey, who cares about a size as long as it fits & feels good + does a great job?

          Dope S***!

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Love these pads use them all the time they're great. They stay where they're suppose to are comfortable enough for long XC rides even during the summer. When you fall they do their job and DONT move down the legs leaving your knee exposed and they aren't too bulky which is also a plus. Definitely worth the dough you put out
