Trade steel driving for spring shredding.

Furthermore, the John Henry features a grippy leather palm that's equipped with a waterproof treatment for protection against slushy snow, while the stretchy back-of-hand offers unimpeded versatility. Good, but not durable

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are your shit-kicker, work horse gloves. They're made out of a super durable waterproof leather, with a breathable backer. I use these on my AT ascent, or when doing work outside in the cold, and they kick ass.

    UPDATE 1/8/19
After my first full day tour during my AVI 1 class the seam on the right glove along the thumb gave away and left me exposed. Luckily I brought an extra pair of gloves, granted those being my super thick Hestra's I usually save for negative temps, but these left me heavily disappointed.

    Use them for anything!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought these gloves not know what they were really for but it seems that people have used them for climbing (which I would not recommend) and for skiing which there is not that much insulation i believe. But what I used them for was a more fall day bike ride down the mountain. They kept me warm and did the job!

    Snug and Breathable

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought these for summer climbs and skis. I love the snug fit. I usually wear a large and these fit nice and snug. Great for scrambling. I did blow out the seams on the fingers after some abusive scrambling. Great for early morning trails, light scrambling, late spring/summer tours. Really great weight and breathability for Summer use.

    Backcountry work glove

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are my goto Uphill glove. The backing breaths nicely while the leather palm and fingers are perfect for some detail task you might have to remove a larger glove for. The leather works with touch screen smartphones too!
The fit is tight!!! For my next pair, I'm sizing up.
Why the bad rating? Well, my 3rd pair and they rip in the same spot, single stitching along the elastic cuff to the palm isn't enough! The rip doesn't effect the function of the glove until its all the way around the wrist. I'm bummed this 2nd generation of the glove has the same problem, its the only defect. Perhaps sizing up will stop this for me since its only when I pull them on through the narrow cuff.
