    Lighter, simpler, and smarter.

Simple is often best, especially when it comes to backcountry tours where extra features equate to unnecessary weight on the long uphill skin. Taking this simple-is-better mentality to the forefront, the FlyLow Men's IQ Pant offers minimalist design and proven performance for the demanding backcountry skier seeking the lightest possible pant in FlyLow's line. Polartec NeoShell provides the guaranteed waterproofing you'd expect from a pant designed to slay the steep and deep. Fully sealed construction prevents outside moisture from seeping through and compromising your comfort when your miles from the nearest trailhead or backcountry hut.

What's special is NeoShell's superior breathability, courtesy of its air permeable design. This design allows for active air exchange, rapidly dispersing excess water vapor (e.g. from built-up perspiration), so you're never hot and sweaty on the skin up, only to nearly freeze to death once you've reached the blustery, exposed summit. And although it does allow for increased air exchange, it won't let strong gusts and oncoming storms inside, so you're always protected from inclement conditions.

Staying true to its name, the IQ offers a host of smartly placed features that won't weigh you down with excess weight or unnecessary bulk on the long, uphill skin. Outer thigh vents keep you from overheating when you're moving fast through the backcountry. 500D Cordura cuffs prevent tearing along the pant bottoms, especially during strenuous bootpacks. Zippered pockets throughout offer functional storage, with a dedicated beacon attachment system for safe backcountry travel (with proper knowledge and educated friends, of course).

    One Pant Quiver!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'4"
    • Weight: 190lbs

These pants are amazing! I've been using them a lot for skiing spring corn in Idaho. Ventilation is key in good touring pants. That being said, these pants have been a dream to tour in. The vents are all placed in the perfect spots. I have definitely been beating these pants up a ton lately, but because of there durability I am confident that they will last for several years to come.

    Love these pants

I had to get new pants these year and I choose these because of how light and breathable they are. They are just a shell so you have much more control over temperature regulation and will keep you dry in any conditions.

Bought these as a Christmas gift for my brother and he's pumped! They're a great fit and with super durable fabric. He's wondering why he hasn't tried Flylow pants before!

    Ski chaps!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Phenomenal pant, no wonder there were hardly any changes. I am a little guy (5'6", 130lbs, 29" waist) and the small fits, I don't feel like I am swimming in it. Last season I put this pant through almost 10 months of skiing. I lived in it for a week straight on a hut trip, skied in the rain in Canada and bushwhacked through miles of of oakbrush in southern Utah. Once I put these pants on I feel no need to take them off, the vents are on point and the full zip means you can transition between crampons, boots, heck running shoes even, with ease. The pockets are well thought out and the beacon pocket is a phenomenal plus. If your looking for a lightweight beefcake of a touring machine look no farther.

    Stoked so far

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Just picked these up for this season, so a bit early to write a real review. Based on trying them on though, super pumped on them to replace my tired old touring pants. They feel super light and are cut perfect so they don't feel like they'll inhibit my movement at all, which is mostly all I care about for a touring pant. They also have very clever huge vents on the outside of your thighs, so if it isn't snowing you can get them wide open and unload some serious heat. This is great, cause we all know regular inside vents don't do much to cool you off while hiking, and add friction/discomfort at times due to the stiff zippers right where your knee bends.

Kudos to Flylow for the well thought out vent strategy. Pumped to get these into some snow!
I'm 6'1, 200lbs, 34 waist and the Large fits perfect. I'd say it's a very true to size fit for a ski pant.

My touring and West coast pant

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: medium
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 168lbs

I have put a season on these pants and know why there were no updated from the first version to the second.. they work just fantastic. The thigh pockets are angled on the inside so all gear moves to my outer thigh and they are low enough to not get in the way of a harness on that type of day. Beyond that the Neoshell fabric breaths really well and it makes them feel more waterproof then my other pants. All that and they look cool.

    Brilliant Pants

Big fan of Flylow brand, but most of the pants have been a bit on the burly and heavy side for me since I ski in the backcountry almost exclusively. It's awesome to get a lightweight offering that still has the loose/freeride style. I've put in over 100 days on the IQ pant and they're exactly what I want for the backcountry. No frills, just bomber breathable fabric, venting and durable cuffs. Good for deep powder days, or ski mountaineering objectives.

Not great pockets; like the fabric

Quick and dirty: fabric is awesome, super breathable. I like the minimalist design. However, it does not comfortably fit a beacon in the front pocket because the beacon sits low and rides on your kneecap, making it very uncomfortable. I personally get too hot wearing a harness for my beacon, so this pant didn't meet my needs without modification. Otherwise it's a sweet pant that just needs a little tweaking.
