Lost in pow.
It's a January pow day—that means frigid temps and a solid base under that fresh layer of fluff. When navigating your way through deep tree runs, you need to be warm yet agile, and the Flylow Gear Daphne Insulated Jacket provides warmth with a streamlined fit. Two-layer Intuitive membrane is waterproof enough to last you lap after lap and keep you dry while still remaining breathable as you work up a sweat.
This jacket uses Primaloft's Black Eco insulation, which is made of post-consumer recycled material that helps justify your new purchase and maintain your eco-conscious lifestyle. This synthetic insulation retains warmth and manages moisture in wet conditions to help keep you comfortable all day long. - Q & A
Great Jacket! (color off)
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: M
- Height: 5'6"
- Weight: 145lbs
The stock photos are different than the actual color. I bought Neptune color (actual color is a very nice dark teal/blue color) backcountry photo and other websites make it look navy.
Great quality - not the stiff loud shell material typically found in riding jackets, but softer and flexible, yet waterproof. Very lightweight considering it is insulated.
Fantastic Insulated Jacket!
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: Runs large
- Size Bought: Medium
- Height: 5'6"
- Weight: 140lbs
The Daphne is an impressively warm and well styled jacket option from Flylow.
It fits in more of a freeride style--a bit longer through the torso and looser--than the Puma Jacket, though fits shorter than the Sarah Jacket (which was way too long for my liking).
It's plenty warm, with only a base layer, down to 20* or so, haven't had the chance to try it below that temperature yet. I'm 5'6", 145#, 34D, and the medium fits with room to layer beneath (could *maybe* have run the small for a closer fit, but I like the looser fit, especially over bibs).
The pockets deserve a major shout-out: side ones to slip your hands in when it gets chilly, pass pocket on the forearm, two lower pockets, great for keys, snacks, etc, inner pocket for your phone with a headphone port, and inner one literally large enough for a calzone, if that's part of your lifestyle (live. your. truth!)
The sleeves fit well, with the super gaiter with thumb hole. I like that I can either have my gloves (with their longer gaunlet) over or under the sleeve.
The hood and neck are also superb: the neck zipper has a comfortable inner fabric, for those times you are without a Buff or neck gaiter. The hood is *almost* helmet compatible with my Smith--I think with a lower profile helmet it would fit better.
If you have Flylow pants or the Foxy Bibs, as I do, the snow skirt snaps right in, which is pretty slick if you ask me.
Overall, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a super warm and comfortable ski jacket. It is on the heavier side, so I would look for a shell option for backcountry or the like.
Not for curvy ladies
- Fit: Runs small
- Size Bought: xl
- Height: 5'8"
I so wanted to love this jacket. However if you are a larger busted lady like myself this coat, and other in the XL size will not fit you. It fit everywhere else but I could not comfortable zip it.
