    A hard day's work.

Those fallen trees on your property aren’t going to take care of themselves. When Saturday morning rolls around, grab your thermos of black coffee, tuck your trusty axe into the Fjallraven Vidda Pro Men's Trousers, and head out back. Plus, once you check off your Saturday chores, the Vidda Pro will just as eagerly head into the mountains for some well-deserved hiking. The trousers' wealth of pockets keep your tools and supplies organized so you can enjoy the views or focus on the task at hand.

    Great Trekking Pants!

Picked these up before a trip to Zion/Bryce Canyon in January 2018. These pants are just as study as advertised! Held up over scrambling through slot canyons, kept me warm and dry hiking the narrows even though my dry-suit was leaking, dried off completely in less than 30 minutes. These are now my go-to hiking pants.

      Great Trekking Pants!

While struggling over the years to find a durable pair of pants to last me for everything from causal use to backpacking excursions, the struggle has now ended! The Vidda Pro pants are exactly what I had been needing all these years. The articulated and reinforced knees offer a better range of motion than most pants while ensuring you have a reliable construction when you find yourself randomly on a mountain or other demanding terrain.

Fjallraven's Vidda Pro comes with top performance in both technical build with their G-1000 as well as unique features to help with any adventure you might find yourself on. Reinforced knees and rear will keep those prone to tearing spots whether your scrambling up a slope or just popped a squat on a rock that's too rigid for your previous pant's material build. On top of everything, these epic pants come with an ice axe pocket for your winter adventures that can double as a map pocket, so long as you rolled it tight enough, for every kind of excursion you could want!

The Fjallraven Vidda Pros are so much of the pant I had always been looking for that I bought multiple.... and will likely buy more even if not necessary as the first pair as still trucking along as good as ever!

      Awesome design, Rugged construction

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

I love these pants. I have both the vidda pro trousers and the keb trousers. If you are deciding between the two, here are the differences I noticed. These are more rugged and made of more resilient material. Both pants are relatively fitted. They look really good, and fit really well with the angled knee joint. The thing I like about the vidda pro are the doubled materials on the knees and seat, and the number of pockets. I use these pants for general adventuring, camping, hiking, exploring, etc. While I use the keb trousers for mountaineering and trekking as they are lighter and the stretch panels make it more comfortable to walk, climb, and extend my legs.

Overall, they are extremely functional, comfortable, and while not being overly baggy. They look awesome, and are designed well and made of resilient materials.

      Everyone needs these

I have like 4 pair of these pants. I have used them for a bunch of different outdoor activities. I just ordered these for my dad and he is going to be so pumped to try them out!

      Believe The Hype

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: 37
      • Height: 6'1"
      • Weight: 215lbs

Used these a few times, so far and they are great. Repels wind pretty well even without a base layer in 20° & 30° weather. stayed petty dry on snowy hikes and snowshoe outings, so far, with the G-1000 proofing. Although if you're out in say a blizzard, or heavy snow, may not be ideal for that, but I would like to see how they fair in that. Love the features on these pants including the gaitor strap and lace hooks. Maybe my go to hiking pants for now on.

I'm 6'1" 215 lbs, usually wear 36-34 size pant, and the Trousers fit great lengthwise. waist seems to fit true to size. Actually found the other style, Vida Pro Pants, to be too long, so exchanged them for these. These look good, very easy to move around in, and the durability is top notch.

      Expensive, but worth it?

Worth $150? That is the question I’m sure many of you have about these pants. I purchased the dark gray/black version of this pant, with the main use being working outdoors and hunting. In the cooler times of the year I will wear pants like these everyday. The body of the pants is dark gray with the double layered knees and seat being black. First of all a note about the sizing; many reviews have stated that these pants run a bit small. I have found that NOT to be the case. The size 48 euro, 32 US that I purchased run a bit large, measuring in at exactly a 33” waist. The fabric is relatively thin for a pant that is marketed as an outdoor garment. The workmanship is quality throughout and the fit, at least for my slim to medium build, is spot-on. These pants are very comfortable and the lightweight fabric plays a big part in that. If you are used to wearing workpants like Carhartt or Arborwear then you will be pleasantly surprised with comfort of the Vidda pants. The lightweight fabric doesn’t cut into the back of your knees when working bent down for long periods of time. On the flip side; will they hold up to extended use and abuse? I have my doubts, especially when compared to a heavy work pant like Carhartt. Time will tell I guess. As far as the cost vs. value goes, you can get three pairs of good jeans or Carhartts for the price of these pants. Or a similar fabric blend in a military BDU pant. So that really only leaves the water resistant feature of the G-1000 fabric and the quality build as the main benefit. Bottom line; the Fjallraven Vidda Pro Trouser is a well made, comfortable and useful piece of gear that in my opinion is overpriced.

I just received my latest pair- I now have 4 of these as well as 2-3 Keb versions.
These are in a beautiful deep sky blue with Navy as shown on seat and knees. ( they call it Night Sky) This may be the nicest color yet. Just beautiful.
I wear these pants for everyday use- work and play. Yes- great for hiking: durable and comfy. If weather looks suspicious, I throw on a little more wax. It comes like a bar of soap. Simply rub it on, and heat to melt in.
You may say: "Wow, these are expensive!" Yes, they are but they wear like iron. Hang them to dry but just put them in a HOT dryer for 3 minutes to melt the Greenland Wax. Lots of compliments with these pants. So tell everyone where to buy a pair!

      Love These

Huge fan of these trekking pants. Super durable, good articulation, and great fit. I use these not only for trekking and hiking, but around the house, on film shoots, and everything in between. No complaints and worth every penny!

      Tough Trekking Pants

      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: small
      • Height: 5'10"
      • Weight: 165lbs

Of all the pants I own, these are the ones that I'd throw on to fight crime. The material is tough and doubled up around the knees and seat. Vents, pockets, and straps are all smartly placed and easy to access/use. They are form fitting down to the knee, and then open up a bit for boots and thick socks. Great fit overall. My only criticism is that I want to wear them all the time. I'll have to pick up some different colors. size purchased: US 29/EU 44

      Gotta collect them all.

I'm on pair number 8. I only get the two toned ones although I broke that rule for the black pair. Obsessed with these pants. Get a pair and you will know why.

      My Latest Go-to Pants!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: 32
      • Height: 6'2"
      • Weight: 175lbs

I was super skeptical at first. First wear, "They're ok." Second wear, "I think I love them" Third day in a row, "These pants rock and they make my butt look good" (Or so they say). Super durable and functional. I love them for everyday and can't wait for the rainy winters here in the PNW to really put them to the test. I love that you can take them into a Fjallraven store and they will re-wax them for free. Otherwise, it's an easy quick task to do at home with a bar of wax and a hairdryer. They do run a little small in the waist. I'm generally a 31 and I went with the 32.

I love the boot hook so you don't need gators and the adjustable cuffs. And I can't forget to mention the streamlined pockets that are incredibly functional. These pants are worth the $$$. I'm debating my second pair already.

way too tight in the crouch and hip

      • Size Bought: 32
      • Height: 6'0"
      • Weight: 178lbs

great material, comfortable legs, excellent styling, perfect for summer, fall hiking.
But I am quite disappointed on the hip room and crouch height. i am a 32
Any level of hiking requires some degree of range of motion. its uncomfortable to sit with these pants.

      Great

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: US size 36
      • Height: 5'11"
      • Weight: 180lbs

These pants are great. I do wish they where a little cheaper but you get what you pay for. I like them so much I bought two pair.
I usually wear a 34 in jeans and I was told to get the 35-36 in these and I like the way they fit.

      Awesome pants

      • Fit: True to size
      • Height: 6'0"
      • Weight: 170lbs

It took a while to pull the trigger due to the high price point, but these are awesome for the outdoors. I expect these will be my camping and backpacking pants for years to come.

      very happy

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 38/39
      • Height: 6'2"

This is my second pair of Vidda Pro pants. Fit great (I wear a 38" waist in other pants, got the 38/39 in these pants). Wore hiking in packed snow and stayed warm and dry (even the ankles that were in contact with the snow). Love the pockets and the reinforced knees and butt. Not heavy feeling either (like cotton trousers). Very happy with purchase. I also own the Fjallraven Skogso jacket...another amazing garment.

      Great quality and fit!

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Height: 6'1"

The cost of these pants are well worth it. The high quality and durability of the pant can take you from stylish to tactical, street to trail! The fit is great, I bought them for my husband and hot dang he looks awesome in them. He is a cyclist and often finds himself deep in the back country of the mountains , with strong thighs he usually has issues with pants fitting both his waist and legs. These have an all around awesome fit!

      Phenomenal Pants!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Mike was having some technical issues with posting his review so I'm posting for him!
"I would give these pants 4.5 stars!
I usually wear 32, sometimes 33. Purchased size 33-34 (50). They fit slightly loose, but not a deal breaker. I fear that 32 would be too small. They are a little baggier at the hips and in the back than I would like, but also not a deal breaker. I am 5'11", and the length of these pants is perfect.
I ordered Dark Olive/Black, hoping that they would look green/black as it appears on my monitor. But, they are actually brown/black (as an actual olive). I was a little disappointed at first, but now I actually really dig it.
Pants are truly built like a tank. Very durable! Lots of roomy pockets. Lots of features. I like the hidden hooks at the bottom of the pants that hook to the shoe laces like gaiters to keep mud out of your boots. That's a very cool feature. Also, it has a long pocket that can open up in the bottom. You can either carry a folding saw, or unsnap the flap in the bottom and carry an axe.
I suggest you purchase Fjallraven Greenland Wax when you get the pants. It will give you additional waterproofing.
Also, call Devin Peterson (Gearhead). I found his review on this page. These pants are not cheap, and I was hesitant to drop so much money on a pair of pants.
I called him, and he was extremely helpful. He answered all my questions, and it sealed the deal for me. And no, he did not ask me to write this. Thanks Devin.

      Mike Y."

      Phenomenal Pants!

      Peer Pressure

      • Size Bought: 30/31
      • Height: 5'11"
      • Weight: 155lbs

My buddy (who I damn near live with) picked these pants up in late November when we were on a winter camping trip in Northern Minnesota.
Honestly, I thought he was an idiot for dropping $150 on a pair of pants, but he was so happy! He wouldn't shut up about them.
I thought they were goofy looking and the "some assembly required" with adding the wax and melting it to a $150 pair of pants gave me plenty of ammo to make fun of my buddy anytime he started to boast about his new purchase.
Fast forward to last weekend (3/31/2017). We were in Southern Minnesota Fly Fishing the driftless area. It was pouring rain all weekend and to top it off, this same guy with these goofy pants got a slow leak in the butt of his waiters. We still fished from 9am to 8pm with his leaky waiters. At the end of the day his waiters came off, filled with water, but the goofy pants (which he was wearing underneath) were dry! The parts of the goofy pants that were wet, dried almost immediately!
***Needless to say, my goofy pants just arrived last night! I am sold.***
      So now for the review:
Apparently people are having an issue with the sizing. Go to the Fjallraven website. They have a size calculator for their pants. Type in your height/weight/pants you like/cut you like. They'll give you your size, then you come back here to backcountry.com and get your free 2 day shipping, brah!
I will say that I am 5'11'' and the regular length fit me perfect. If I was an inch taller I would go with the long cut.
NO BACK POCKETS YOU SAY!!!??? You shouldn't keep things in your back pockets anyways. It's bad for your back.
The gaiter straps at the bottom are really nice for snowy or wet conditions, the pockets are super deep and well placed, the material is lite/breathable/moisture wicking/water repellent (I sound like my friend).
Read the reviews about the wax and apply liberally in the winter/ wash out in the Summer.
I am very happy with the purchase of my goofy pants and I look forward to putting them through the wringer!
      (did you read all this?)

      Unanswered Question

How well would these work for climbing? Is the crotch gussetted enough to permit high-steps, and would they be comfortable under a harness?
