    A hard day's work.

Those fallen trees on your property aren’t going to take care of themselves. Awesome pants

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

It took a while to pull the trigger due to the high price point, but these are awesome for the outdoors. I expect these will be my camping and backpacking pants for years to come.

    very happy

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 38/39

This is my second pair of Vidda Pro pants. Fit great (I wear a 38" waist in other pants, got the 38/39 in these pants). Wore hiking in packed snow and stayed warm and dry (even the ankles that were in contact with the snow). Love the pockets and the reinforced knees and butt. Not heavy feeling either (like cotton trousers). Very happy with purchase. I also own the Fjallraven Skogso jacket...another amazing garment.

    Great quality and fit!

The cost of these pants are well worth it. The high quality and durability of the pant can take you from stylish to tactical, street to trail! The fit is great, I bought them for my husband and hot dang he looks awesome in them. He is a cyclist and often finds himself deep in the back country of the mountains , with strong thighs he usually has issues with pants fitting both his waist and legs. These have an all around awesome fit!

    Phenomenal Pants!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 33-34

Mike was having some technical issues with posting his review so I'm posting for him!

"I would give these pants 4.5 stars!

I usually wear 32, sometimes 33. Purchased size 33-34 (50). They fit slightly loose, but not a deal breaker. I fear that 32 would be too small. They are a little baggier at the hips and in the back than I would like, but also not a deal breaker. I am 5'11", and the length of these pants is perfect.

I ordered Dark Olive/Black, hoping that they would look green/black as it appears on my monitor. But, they are actually brown/black (as an actual olive). I was a little disappointed at first, but now I actually really dig it.

Pants are truly built like a tank. Very durable! Lots of roomy pockets. Lots of features. I like the hidden hooks at the bottom of the pants that hook to the shoe laces like gaiters to keep mud out of your boots. That's a very cool feature. Also, it has a long pocket that can open up in the bottom. You can either carry a folding saw, or unsnap the flap in the bottom and carry an axe.

I suggest you purchase Fjallraven Greenland Wax when you get the pants. It will give you additional waterproofing.

Also, call Devin Peterson (Gearhead) at 801-619-7466. I found his review on this page. These pants are not cheap, and I was hesitant to drop so much money on a pair of pants.

I called him, and he was extremely helpful. He answered all my questions, and it sealed the deal for me. And no, he did not ask me to write this. Thanks Devin.

    Phenomenal Pants!

    Peer Pressure

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 30/31

My buddy (who I damn near live with) picked these pants up in late November when we were on a winter camping trip in Northern Minnesota.
Honestly, I thought he was an idiot for dropping $150 on a pair of pants, but he was so happy! He wouldn't shut up about them.
I thought they were goofy looking and the "some assembly required" with adding the wax and melting it to a $150 pair of pants gave me plenty of ammo to make fun of my buddy anytime he started to boast about his new purchase.
Fast forward to last weekend (3/31/2017). We were in Southern Minnesota Fly Fishing the driftless area. It was pouring rain all weekend and to top it off, this same guy with these goofy pants got a slow leak in the butt of his waiters. We still fished from 9am to 8pm with his leaky waiters. At the end of the day his waiters came off, filled with water, but the goofy pants (which he was wearing underneath) were dry! The parts of the goofy pants that were wet, dried almost immediately!
***Needless to say, my goofy pants just arrived last night! I am sold.***
    So now for the review:
Apparently people are having an issue with the sizing. Go to the Fjallraven website. They have a size calculator for their pants. Type in your height/weight/pants you like/cut you like. They'll give you your size, then you come back here to backcountry.com and get your free 2 day shipping, brah!
I will say that I am 5'11'' and the regular length fit me perfect. If I was an inch taller I would go with the long cut.
NO BACK POCKETS YOU SAY!!!??? You shouldn't keep things in your back pockets anyways. It's bad for your back.
The gaiter straps at the bottom are really nice for snowy or wet conditions, the pockets are super deep and well placed, the material is lite/breathable/moisture wicking/water repellent (I sound like my friend).
Read the reviews about the wax and apply liberally in the winter/ wash out in the Summer.
I am very happy with the purchase of my goofy pants and I look forward to putting them through the wringer!
    (did you read all this?)

    Excellent 3 season pant

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 32

I purchased these pants for outdoor activities (hiking and snowshoeing) for autumn through spring. I have only worn them several times, but they are very comfortable and would purchase them again. The pockets are easy to access, the legs bottoms are easily tightened, and the waist sits similar to a mid rise, which is very comfortable when hiking with a pack. They look great, so I can wear them out for dinner when coming home from a day hike. I found the waist to be true to size; I purchased a 32 waist, but could have gone with a 30. The 32 waist has ease, but not baggy.

    Couldn't return!

I bought these for my father in law for Christmas but unfortunately they were to small for him. I bought him a replacement pair and he loves them.
I wasn't able to return the original ones because they fit me! I've already taken them on a few wild adventures including jumping over tall barbed wire fences and razor wire to river rescue and they held up great. I really like how lightweight they are for the durability you get out of them.
I really like the reinforced knees as well. These pants are the perfect all around wilderness/work pants!

    Excellent quality

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: US 37

I purchased these for work (paramedic) and have used them numerous times over several 48 and 96 hour shifts. They have held up very well to washing and in spite of collecting every stray dog hair in my house, they look great.

Fit runs a little small. I wear a American size 36 and I'm 6'01" tall and I bought one size larger and they couldn't be better.

Pockets are plentiful and button cuffs at the ankles allow for a tight fit around my boots to help keep out snow.

    Mixed emotions

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 50

I have mixed emotions about these pants. Some aspects I love; others, not so much:

Likes: 1. Love the pockets. Room for my phone and wallet in the front and side pockets with plenty of room for extras.
    2. Seem well made and durable, although...

Dislikes: 1. The product photos are slightly misleading. The fit, to me, is quite a bit baggier than the product photo suggests and not in a flattering way. They also don't stack as well as the product photo indicates.
    2. The material is a bit lighter than I had anticipated from the description, photos, and reviews. I would call it medium to light weight. This makes me question their long term durability. Frankly, for the price, I was expecting them to be beefier.

    Recommended with reservations.

Sizing: I customarily wear anywhere between a 32 and 34 waist size in pants depending on the manufacturer. I ordered the 50 (33-34) and have a bit of room in the waist, so I would agree that they fit just slightly small. Length is true.

    Great, tough pants But....

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small

This is my first product from Fjallraven. These pants are very well built from a very tough, breathable material. I love the pockets and I like that there aren't any back pockets. They are comfortable and look really cool. I think if they added a small stretch panel in the back beneath the belt these would be perfect. My only complaint- where is my Greenland wax? They tell you about the wax and how you should wax them for more durability, water and wind resistance. Then you pay more than a hundred dollars for them and- no wax. I want my Greenland Wax!

Hands Down, Nothing Better Out There!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: US 32

I cannot believe that I didn't discover this pant/trouser until now at the age of 52 after hiking and camping for decades. An amazing design. Finally someone got all the pockets right! Deep pockets, the small one on the left leg is perfect for my knife. The pants are very water resistant and most surprising is how warm they are for feeling light-weight against the skin, yet cool when it's warm. The construction is superb. Clearly care and quality control is a priority for the company. Best of all? These pants actually have STYLE. Imagine, outdoor gear with some style. If you're looking for an outdoor hiking/camping/walking/ pair of pants that function as well as they look, look no further.

Perfect work pant, believe it or not.

Working in a rail yard, you walk on ballast made of granite and climb vertical steel ladders X amount of times a day. There is also the odd piece of debris, whether it be a stray tie or jagged hunk of metal that belonged to god-knows-what that will catch your clothing and cause a rip. These pants have performed better than anything I could have asked for. I actually have two pairs, one waxed just in case of weather. The stitching is excellent, saving me the embarrassment of a ripped crotch from ladder climbing that has happened when I've worn an old pair of jeans. They are fairly breathable as well, my unwaxed pair staying comfortable under overalls at the moment. I appreciate the pocket placement immensely, holding paperwork like a champ. The strap at the bottom of the pant keeps the cold and damp at bay better than anything else I've worn. Finally, if you didn't sweat too much during the work day, all that's needed to clean the pant is a spot wiping with a cloth to get rid of the grime. I love these pants.

      My new standard.

I bought these in anticipation of a weeklong trip to Iceland. Being my first Fjallraven product I wasn't sure if I would end up loving them or not.

Fast forward to the end of that trip and I am 100% sold on these as my new go-to pant for the outdoors. Looking back on that trip I easily could have left all my other pants at home, the Vidda Pro was simply all I wanted to wear.

The day I bought them I immediately treated them with Fjallraven's Greenland Wax and I definitely recommend you do the same. The wax is easy to apply and adds water-resistance AND makes your pants look awesome.

The cut of the pants is perfect for long days in the field. Being a photographer I also appreciate the ample pocket space and the adjustable cinches at the cuff.

I did find that I had to size up from what I normally order in other brands to get a waistband that fit right. But once I got the size right I could not have been happier with the product and its performance.

      Built like a tank.

Surprisingly lightweight considering the durability and number of pockets, etc. The fit is good, they're not huge, and you really can't go wrong if you're looking for trekking pants tat need to take a beating. I bought the Fjallraven insertable kneepads separately, and they are great for when I know I'll be spending a lot of time kneeling, crawling over rocks, etc. As a bonus, these pants look great.

      Amazing!

Wore these for 2 weeks in Iceland, held up amazing! When Greenland wax is added correctly completely keeps water out, however have to reapply if in sopping rain for days on end. Fit well and I love the design with no pockets in the back as they are just useless anyway.

        GET these pants !!

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: 48

Wore these for two weeks and 6500 miles traveling from Atlanta, GA to Portland, OR. It does not get any better than this. Comfort wise these were perfect. Ample room all around and no bunching. The fit was on point for me with a 48 and so was the length. You have plenty of pockets to store everything.

I spilled both food and liquid on these and it cleaned out or brushed off without issue. Plenty of dust where I visited and it came right off with some simple wringing. I have not applied the wax yet but after spending as much time in them as I did all I can say is these are my new favorite pants for hiking or whatever. You will not be disappointed.

        GET these pants !!

        So durable

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

        • Size Bought: 48 cm

The weave on these pants makes them very durable and wind-resistant. The adjustable cuff at the bottom is 3 distinct snaps, so not infinitely adjustable. Not an issue at all, just fyi. There is also a hook hidden at the cuff so you can secure these onto your boots in bad weather (specific to Vidda Pro) - a convenient alternative to wearing gaitors.
They are a slim fit in both waist and thigh but I would still say the are true to size... ok maybe they fit slightly small ... I am a size 32 or 33, I ordered the EU 48cm. They were initially tight but they relaxed and now fit perfectly. The pockets are somehow magically designed so that even if the pant is a bit slim, the pockets will still hold your wallet, phone, small snacks, etc. without feeling too tight. They will also relax over time.

        300% beyond serious trekkers

        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: 32" Mens Long

Incredible quality, perfect fit. Knee pad slots will be handy in Montana this Summer. Perfect Big City Rain Pants, waxed. Wish I was thirty again...I'd get a dozen and not wear any other pants!

        I'm hooked

I have become a fan of everything Fjallraven over the past few years. These pants truly hold up through endurance challenges of GoRuck, as well as the demands of being on the job site. These pants have held up from snow to sandy beaches, but they do need to be washed according to instructions. I have had pairs degrade due to regular washing.
