Vidda Pro Jacket

If you're looking for a durable outer layer for everyday life and trips to the trail, look no further than the Fjallraven Vidda Pro Jacket. It's made with a tough yet breathable G-1000 Eco fabric that won't break down in a hurry and withstands wear from heavy usage and rugged environments. It's got an adjustable hood that'll pull in tightly to shut out strong mountain winds, and reinforced shoulders for greater durability under pack straps. Speaking of pack straps, the shoulders also feature minimal seaming to reduce chafing when you're hiking with a heavy pack on. Plus, with eight pockets, the Vidda Pro provides enough storage for a long day out on the trail, including lower front pockets with gear loops that'll keep a knife and other essential tools close at hand when you're setting up camp and a roaring fire.

Many pockets, practical, breathable and good shape

This is my first Fjällräven product ever and I´m very pleasantly surprised by the jacket, I must say! I'm very happy with it so far. Fortunately, the jacket is not slim size! For me it means that I can have layers underneath when needed. Even without layers underneath, it doesn't feel baggy in any way. So, if you want a jacket that is not tight, then I recommend a Vidda pro jacket!

Perfect!

I bought the Vidda Pro as a lighter weight between-season/Summer jacket. Despite its bombproof construction it's lighter and packs smaller than I expected: a bonus. Great pockets and plenty of them. Good length, below the hips on me. I'm 5'8, 12.5 stone (and 61). M is perfect. Sleeves not too long, wrist popstuds not too tight, and room to layer underneath without being too baggy just worn over a shirt. No velcro to catch on anything, just patina to add! The only thing I'd ask for is a well-considered way to furl and stow the hood. Not inside a collar, but maybe a retainer with a pop stud?

Roomy for a Reason

This is my second Fjallraven jacket and I had a lot of trouble gauging what size to choose based on internet reviews. Luckily I went with my instinct to purchase it in the same size as my Greenland winter jacket (a large). I’m 5’11” 195 (athletic) pounds and I wanted to have it fit for layering without being clownishly baggy. And it does just that. Many online reviews suggest sizing down but I suspect they’re not familiar with Fjallraven sizing nor jacket purpose. Sizing correctly won’t give you a tailored item for walking a tony shopping strip with this over a thin cotton layer. That’s not it’s purpose. Sized correctly you can get a down insulated layer over a mid and/or base and know you still have mobility to swing an axe or ride a snowmobile without the cuffs riding up. Don’t let the fashion sizing crowd make you second guess your correct size for functional uses.
