The Fjallraven Men's Sormland Tapered Long Winter Trouser has some insulation from the knees up to provide that extra touch of warmth required for trekking, fishing, or hunting in colder climates. Its exterior boasts a wind- and water-resistant G-1000 Silent Eco fabric that effectively wicks moisture and dries quick just in case you work up a sweat on the trail. Fjallraven lined the insulation in mesh for better ventilation, and reinforced the brace zones that can securely fasten braces. The pant has a regular fit that tapers at the leg to stay off muddy trails.

Awesome cold weather trousers
Perfect cold weather pants. Very comfortable, highly breathable. It's like having a pair of G-1000 Pajamas. Combined with a thermal base layer, these are warm enough for all but extreme conditions here in Minnesota. Wish they had more color options. Highly recommended.

Love the long inseam.
My favorite pants and I have four pair now. I really appreciate the long inseam and the overall fit. I am 6’-4” tall and 195 lbs and have found it difficult to find pants that fit this well.

Fantastic Trousers
I've owned these about a month, worn them 3 times - twice for late fall golf outings and once for a photography excursion along the ocean in cold and wet foul weather - they were fantastic on all occasions. They're very cozy with a plush quilted lining, break the wind well and keep your legs nice and warm - I can see these getting much more wear when the winter cold is fully up on us in Maine. I do agree with the first reviewer who mentioned they run a little bit large. I generally order size 32 but went with the 30/31 option and the fit is perfect. The general fit of the leg is tapered but not extremely so, while the hip/seat matches the legs well visually but is not overly snug in any way. So many outdoor trousers are overly bulky but these have a great slim appearance while not compromising comfort and function. These trousers are absolutely perfect for my needs.

Great for colder days
First, I do not write reviews unless it’s something I fall in love with. These pants have been my go-to pant in the 2021 - 2022 winter month for dog walking in general small hikes in our Maple Forest. They do run slightly oversized; however, it was a benefit as they fit a pair of longjohns underneath, and in negative 15c, it keeps me warm. I also put a layer of wax on specific areas to break the wind, which was extremely helpful during some of the days. During the fall or spring, where it is less cold, I feel I do not need to wear anything underneath as the extra layer of insulation cuts the cold nicely. I will be ordering the non-insulated for summer and milder days as I find these pants wear exceptionally well and work well with an active lifestyle. They are a bit pricey, but I also feel you will get many seasons out of them, so you buy one pair, and you’re done. I hope this is helpful best regards from northern Canada.

GREAT pants
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- EU48
- Height:
- 6' 1"
- Weight:
- 175
This is my second pair. I had to get a second pair as I wear them a TON. Really comfortable in cool/ cold weather but somehow don't feel hot even in a warm house. I haven't had any problems with durability, including the buttons. I'm 6'1" and about 175 lbs. I have a EU 48 and EU 50 and the 48 fit me a bit better but both are workable. I highly recommend.

Order true to size not down.
I called a Fjallraven store to ask about sizing because my lens got much bigger than the stated size and he said the same for these and to size down. Do not if you plan to be able to walk or bend over. The waist of a 31 is near 32 but the rest is very tight! Pant feels great quality and the lining will be amazing. Wish I’d ordered true to size.

Excellent pants for winter fly fishing.
I picked up a pair of the Sörmland winter trousers this past fall and am very happy with them after putting them through their paces. I use these trousers at work (outside on the water) and around town in the winter, the insulation is very warm but its thin enough that you cant even tell they are padded(even when paired with long johns!). The lower part of the pants are lined with a silky material so they don't bunch up your long underwear/sock when putting them on. Where they really shined for me was under a pair of waiters while fly fishing in the colder months. The tapered leg makes them easy to slide into your waiters, and they've kept me warm while standing still in frigid waters while fishing for trout. I also own the standard (non-insulated) Sörmland trousers and needed to size up one size for the winter version.
