First, the pic on Backcountry is wrong with regard to the logo on the shirt. It's red and stands out vs. the subtle logo shown in the pic. Second, my own mea culpa. I was quite busy when the shirt arrived and I only gave it a quick go over before removing tags and tossing it in the wash, being pretty sure I was going to love it. Only after giving it much greater attention when less busy did I notice the rather severe contrasting red logo, which I hate, and the fact that the shirt is way longer than I realized. I can only guess that people in Sweden are also wearing Fjallraven pants when in the backcountry and that this type of shirt nicely tucks into that type of pant and looks good. If you want to wear it untucked, it's going to look a bit weirdly long, particularly if wearing with shorts vs pants. Third, if you are looking at this shirt for wearing during warmer weather hiking (much less hot weather hiking), it's way heavier than I expected. I often hike in a poly/nylon blend fishing-type shirt (Howler Bros.) that is about the most perfect hiking shirt I've found. Super light. Dries super fast. Doesn't smell essentially ever. Sheds wrinkles amazingly well. Basically, the only reason I bought the Fjallraven is because I was hoping for the same/similar performance in a slimmer fit. The fit is slimmer but only slightly. So I like that part. But wow is it heavier! I won't know for sure until I get the opportunity to use it backpacking in the summer, but I can't imagine the Fjallraven being as cool and comfortable. Might be well-suited for shoulder season though. On a side note, there is venting mesh under the arms that opens with a button. It is not made to be re-buttoned with the shirt on except by the most dextrous individuals on the planet. Maybe snaps would've been better? Fourth, I will say that the fabric seems super tough, definitely tougher than the Howler Bros. shirt I've been hiking in. I believe I could hike through some pretty thick and thorny brush without the slightest damage and without the shirt even snagging. It feels like the shirt might take about 3 years of constant wear and washing to feel broken in. So kudos to the G1000 fabric for obviously being super tough. If you live and hike in Alaska, this could be a primary shirt for you. At 5' 11" and ranging between 150 and 155 pounds, the shirt is not at all restrictive and you could easily wear the thickest base layer under it with plenty of room left over. In the end, not sure what I'll use it for and kinda wish I had taken more time to evaluate it before throwing it in the wash. I probably would've sent it back given the heavier-than-expected fabric, length, and ridiculous red logo. But that's my own fault.

This is a great shirt for hiking, camping, and outdoor use. The g1000 is tough enough to resist abrasions and snags, but breathable enough for active use. The mesh vents are in the right places and don’t bunch up or get uncomfortable with a pack on. I’m 6’3”, 215lbs, 34 waist. I work out but definitely not huge and the xl fits perfect. Couldn’t size down at all.

I am a fan of the G1000 fabric. The version of that fabric in this shirt is perfect for backpacking. It breathes, yet is comfortable at that pressure points of a backpack. I also like the button flaps under the arms. They open at the pits to reveal a soft mesh for more breathability. Awesome little feature. Fjallraven forever....

I had originally been looking for the Greenland shirt, but to no avail. I talked to one of the GearHeads and they suggested this shirt. So far it has performed above and beyond in the woods and for the rare occasion I find myself in the city I get asked constantly what brand the shirt is and the compliments always follow. I wish they made it in more colors. Overall I highly recommend this Shirt.

Love it!

Got this shirt in the dark grey and couldn’t be happier about it! Wore it on a canoeing trip and it was awesome. Functional and looks great!
