3 Years going strong.

I think I can best summarize my opinion of this coat in that it makes me want to go outside in blizzards. This thing is sooo warm and well designed for practical use; I spend a huge amount of time standing outside for hours in the winter and this is the perfect tool for the job. Not only is it warm, but its also very durable. The external fabric is tough! I have no concerns about it every ripping which is a huge peace of mind, I think the thick fabric also helps protect from wind which is really nice when its blustery. The pockets are very generous and perfect for stashing gloves or other moderate sizes items if needed. I find myself rarely needing the hood but when I do its oversized and very helpful in protecting against flakes or wind. The only thing that I dont absolutely love about this thing is the zipper for some reason its a bit hard to line up, and there is a bit of a learning curve, its funny, every winter it takes me a couple tries when first using the coat to get the feel for it, but after that I have no issus; on the other hand, the zipper is very durable so its not like I'm concerned about it failing, more that it just takes a bit of a specific 'touch' to get it to line up. Overall I would highly reccomend this, it will last for years (mine has so far, and I expect it will for many more) its also a lot more affordable than other premium parkas, but I think this one is actually warmer and more practical in many ways than its competitors.

Finally warm and stylish in Winter.

I bought this jacket back in October and had to patiently wait for winter here in Alberta Canada. Currently our temperatures have been ranging from -35 c to -45 without windchill. During this current cold spell i can say without a doubt i am very happy with this jacket. The sizing chart said to get a Medium as I am a 5 ft 8 in male with a athletic build. I heard from many reviews to size down which i did. I do not find the fit too tight or restrictive but I would have enough room to layer up if i chose to. The quality of this jacket feels great and the g1000 fabric feels tough and rugged to last many many years. I get many compliments on how nice the jacket looks which wasn't my intended goal but i do feel like a true Swedish person when I wear this gear. I love love love this coat. To finish writing i have seen reviews stating how annoying the zipper is. My first few attempts were problematic, but once i attempted a few times I understand how to zipper is everytime without struggle. Just pay attention to how you zip up the jacket.

Super warm, looks great!

Highly recommend this jacket! I bought it for a winter trip to the Swedish Lapland (Abisko and Kiruna). It got down to 0F or so (-17C). This jacket is an absolute beast! Couple the jacket with the Fjallraven thin wool top and a light sweater and you'll be super warm. The tour guides all offered winter clothes to borrow and they had this same jacket! The pockets are plentiful and excellent. Big outside pockets for your hat and gloves and small zippered pockets for your phone/wallet. The fit is also top notch. Zipped up it looks great and I received many compliments from total strangers. I have the navy. I'll still give it five stars, but the zipper is 0/10. It's on the "wrong" (left) side for a men's jacket and assuming you are right-handed, it is extremely difficult to get started. You'll definitely need to have both gloves off and even then, it is very tough. One other thing to keep in mind: this is an extremely warm jacket. In 35F weather, you'll be roasting to death in just a t-shirt, even unzipped. This jacket is really designed for days when it's 25F or colder.

Best winter jacket that I own!

I love my Fjallraven Singi Down Jacket! I purchased this jacket in dark navy two years ago and to this day, it is my go-to jacket for really cold weather. I live in the north east of the U.S. so the temps can drop to sub-20 degrees (Fahrenheit), but this jacket and it’s ethically sourced down does an excellent job at keeping the warmth trapped inside. I must say that it’s roomy enough to layer up underneath and I actually had to size down to a small, when I normally take medium in everything I purchase. For reference, I am 5’-9”, 160 lbs, lean, athletic build. So keep in mind that sizing down may be necessary depending on your height and weight.

Quality Jacket Through and Through

I purchased this jacket this past winter and only had the opportunity to wear it a handful of times. This jacket is incredibly warm. I tend to run fairly warm and therefore, when I'm moving (hiking, snowshoeing etc.) this jacket can be too much warmth. This by no means is a negative. I didn't get this jacket for that purpose. I purchased it for cold Canadian winters for many years to come when we're not hiking and there's less activity involved. For that, it is absolutely wonderful. When moving though, the double zipper is fantastic to be able to vent it from the top and bottom, but keep it together in the middle. I've worn it in strong winds and blowing snow and this is when the wonderful hood shines. The hood is a fantastic size and can be shaped to block out the driving sleet or snow but still provide visibility. Absolutely love it! The quality of the jacket really stands out. The G-1000 material just feels like hard wearing, long lasting great quality. The large chunky zippers and quality zipper pulls (which can be used with gloves and quality snaps really stand out. The multiple pockets and the size of the pockets are fantastic! You can really carry a lot of gear in this jacket if you wanted to. The flexibility of those pockets are fantastic. Being a husband, father and dog owner, I tend to be the pack mule when we're outside in nature, so these pockets come in handy. At any given time I could be carrying anything from hot pockets, to mobile devices, to dog leashes, to extra mitts and hats to insulated bottles with hot chocolate or coffee etc. This jacket handles it all with ease. Fit and Sizing. I'm about 6'3" about 180lbs with long arms (long, lean athletic build). I'm a 42" chest, about a 35" sleeve length and was very surprised and happy that the size medium actually fit me. The large felt a bit too big in the body. I can get a thick sweater on easily under the medium and arms on the jacket "just" fit. I wished they were a touch longer, but I'm pleased with the length. I tried on both and decided on the medium. Hope this helps others on the sizing.

Excellent in Low Arctic winter

*2021 model Used this for jacket for work in Yellowknife and in Nunavut for over the past year. Waxed the whole jacket - light under the arms and double over the shoulders and was comfortable when the wind picked up. It's not as bulky as the Can Goose Jacket and better to layer. I was worried the fill wouldn't insulate enough, but it was fine with a wool sweater or down jacket under it. I was comfortable at -40c (actual temp) with a down layer under for 1 hr+ at low activity. Comfortable for walking multiple kms around -20c with just a base layer. It was too warm for higher activity warmer than -20c and I ended using it like a warm shell over an Expedition Pack Down Hoodie. The zipper is a bit tough to get started.

The last winter jacket I will ever need.

This thing is a beast! I felt compelled to write a review because it is -37c here right now and I just took my dog out for a walk this morning wearing this jacket with only a t-shit under it and I was toasty warm the whole time! The construction is amazing, tough and classy. I see no need to ever buy another winter jacket because this will do it all from dog walks to sitting on a frozen lake ice fishing all day. I’m 5’10” 175lbs and I usually buy jackets in large because I like room for layering but on the advice of YouTube I bought this in a medium and it is a perfect fit. Not too bulky but plenty of room for layers.
