It all started with a pack.

Fjallraven started when its founder, Ake Nordin, started stitching together backpacks in his mother's basement. Those humble beginnings morphed into one of the most unique and well-respected outdoor brands around today through the dedication to produce high-quality and durable goods that will wear well over time and last after repeated use in rugged conditions. The Ovik 3-in-1 Men's Jacket comes from this heritage, and while its design is oriented more toward everyday, casual use, its components are just as rugged as anything you'll find on the brand's more technical pieces of clothing.

The fabric is made with Fjallraven's eco-friendly G-1000 fabric, which is made from organic cotton and recycled polyester. It comes impregnated with a Greenland wax for wet weather protection and can be strengthened or removed throughout the life of the jacket through either washing, or a simple rub-on application. The zip-out liner jacket is insulated with a synthetic fill and works well as an insulating midlayer; although, it works equally well as a standalone jacket. The hood on the shell jacket is fixed and adjustable, and the hem can be adjusted through a simple and effective drawcord. The cuffs are fitted with button-adjustable tabs, while the four hand pockets have both zippered side, as well as snap-button flaps.

    Nicest winter coat I’ve owned

The Fjalraven Ovik 3 in 1 is a constructed of high quality material that looks great. The G1000 is on par with Gore Tex in my opinion although I haven’t worn it in the rain yet it’s definitely windproof and feels like it would shed water without any issues. My wife owns a Canada Goose and I would say it’s a similar feel to her material. As for the fit I am 5’7” about 175 with a 40” chest and a medium fits well, not too big but not too small and I can fit a down vest or large sweater underneath if I need to layer more. I run somewhat hot so did not want anything overly warm/bulky and this fits the bill perfect. So far in 20 degree weather with wind I’ve been warm with nothing but a button down underneath. The inside liner also zips out so this should treat me well in the Sping/fall as well. I look forward to many years with this coat.

      Great Jacket!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Large
      • Height: 5'10"
      • Weight: 185lbs

The Fjallraven Ovik 3-in-1 Jacket is sick! This is the first legit casual jacket that I've purchased and I'm so glad I did. You can wear the jacket with the liner during the winter, take the liner out during the fall, or wear just the liner as an insulator. Stoked to get such a versatile piece for $350!

      Fjallraven Ovik

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
      • Fit: True to size

I got this jacket as a gift but have some feedback to share from the recipient. Overall he really likes the jacket and finds the fabric to be super durable. I got him the brown color but I think I maybe should have gone with the black. He says the brown color is just a little drab, but it's nothing he's too particular about since the jacket is so comfortable. The liner jacket fits him a little bit more snug than expected, but not so much so that it's uncomfortable. However the outer shell fits true to size. If you don't plan on wearing the liner by itself then it won't be an issue. Overall it's a high quality jacket packed with a lot of warmth.

Fjallin' in Love with this Jacket

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Large
      • Height: 5'11"
      • Weight: 220lbs

First, I'll say that - in this instance, anyway - Fjallraven's sizing is dead on. I know that their parkas are often large enough to camp in, but this jacket is a dead-ringer for the way (in my experience) a Large coat should fit.

Bit of a boxy cut and it is pretty heavy - think "well broken-in Carhartt jacket" and you're close. The double zipper is sort of a turn-off that I hadn't realized would be utilized here, but it's not as much of a headache as it has been for me with other jackets.

The G-1000 fabric seems indestructible but this is definitely made at the sacrifice of weight. This coat is heavy but I got the sense that it will definitely take a beating.

Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking. Stoked to put it through the wringer this coming winter.

      Unanswered Question

Does the inner jacket zip directly into the shell to make a single jacket, or do they just zip to themselves independently?
