Better than other Down Jacket

I've used it several times

Fjallraven has made a near perfect jacket here. Im about 6 feet, and 215, but I have an athletic build because of time in the gym. I started off with a Patagonia down jacket that fit my upper body well, but the torso was HUGE. The jacket also just didn't feel like it had enough weight to it. I moved over to the Arcteryx Throrium which a very good jacket and I wanted to make it work, but the upper sleeve /shoulder area was too tight and it felt like it was grabbing my armpit. So after talking with gear heads I moved over to the Fjallraven despite the price. BUT, this jacket is perfect. First, the cut of the jacket feels like it was tailored for me. No restrictions in the upper body, but the torso it not huge. The down creates the perfect loft so I don't look like the Michelin man, but stay toasty warm. So far, I can wear the jacket with just an Icebreaker Tshirt in 25-30 degree temperatures. I imagine it would be exceptional into negative temps with a long sleeve base layer and a shell . The material has a soft feel like a sleeping bag, but doesn't seem flimsy. The snaps along the zipper are perfect for venting. Hand pockets are plenty big even if you have gloves on. The jacket is everything you'd want it to be in spades except for price, but considering how much better it is; divided by the number of years it will last... makes it a value. Fjallraven will be my "go to" brand for now on because of this jacket. I strongly recommend this jacket if you're looking for the best down option.

For when it gets REAL cold

I've put it through the wringer

I have a bunch of mid-layers but this last winter did me in and I was ready to just get something that I knew I would be warm in. This solved the issued. I am 5' 11" 190lb. I bought a large and am pleased. I find that I often am wearing another mid-layer or jacket when I decide I am cold so I like a bit of extra room to go over everything. Pockets and chin area are lined in a micro fleece that helps with feeling warm. I know cold is relative however, I do live at 8200 in Colorado and feel like anything more would just be too much. The other item I considered when buying this jacket is Fjallraven's down promise. If you get a chance look it up on Youtube, personally is makes a difference to me how ethically animals are treated in the process.
