Who knew Karl was so sneaky?

Sneak up on other hikers, and the Fjallraven Men's Karl Pant's G-1000 Silent fabric will help you spook them good. Apart from being Silent, G-1000's durable blend of breathable cotton and quick-drying polyester is totally worthy of any outdoors mission. Articulated knees help you hike the steep stuff, and a low rise accommodates climbing harnesses and backpack straps. Fjallraven added two pockets specifically designed for tools and maps, as well as a plethora of pockets for your hands, wallet, and more.

Perhaps the most beautiful part of any Fjallraven apparel is the G-1000 waxed coating. Each pair of pants comes with a wax impregnation for reliable resistance against abrasion and water. You can re-wax the fabric once the original wax wears off, and you can thicken the wax for winter or thin it out for summer, resulting in a versatile and traditional style for year-round outdoors adventures.

What do you think about this product?

    Have questions about this product?

    Sizes were confusing

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: EU 44
    • Height: 5'8"
    • Weight: 140lbs

When I checked the size chart for these pants, a EU 44 had a range running from 29" to 30" (US). I can fit into a 29 tightly and regularly take a 30 (my normal size). These pants fit but they were snug. I would say they are true to size if I averaged the range provided but prior to ordering, it was just a guess.

    Not worth the money

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 32
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 155lbs

I bought these pants to use while backpacking/camping. I tried to like these pants, I really did. I don't know what it is, but these are the most uncomfortable pair of pants I've ever worn. If you have large quads and glutes, don't even think of getting these pants, unless you don't care about using the pockets.

    Great pans

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 34
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 190lbs

Running somewhat long but very easy to fit. I went to Iceland, great for hiking and wind protection. Can put long underwear without limiting your movements. Small issues are as they attract cat fur.. Otherwise great pants.

    runs way too long

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Size Bought: 30 Reg
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 160lbs

These seem very comfortable for hiking and backpacking. I like the material and they fit very nicely around the waist but the Regular size is way too long for me and there is no Short option.

    fjall raven pants

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 36
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 170lbs

The pants looked very nice. However they are sized smaller that US sizes. I normally wear a 36 but these lacked at least 2 inches or so from closing.

How would these work for climbing?

    Hey Ryan,

These would work fine for climbing. Dependent on how they fit your shape they should give you the range of motion you need. One thing to keep in mind if traditional or sport climbing these pants fit a bit lower on the waist so having on a harness it might site a bit higher than ideal. Email headed your way.
