Kanken Bottle Pocket

Bought for my grandson - he loves it. He lives far from me so can’t comment on quality, etc since I haven’t physically seen the item!

I don’t have a fjallraven backpack but this ingenious invention fits perfectly on a bag I have that also can’t fit my water bottle. I’m not crazy about the drawstring that secures the bottle - it’s not prominent in the product photo so I was surprised to see it when I opened the package. It would be good for a slimmer water bottle but isn’t really necessary on a big one. My water bottle fits snugly inside the pocket so the drawstring part (and extra fabric)kinda gets in the way, especially trying to put the bottle back in while my pack is still on one shoulder. But it would be very simple to cut it out. Overall very happy with it.

So comfortable!

Bought this because it’s what Joel wears in most of HBO’s The Last of Us. It’s warm but not stifling, the surprise pocket-behind-the-pocket was so exciting, and the sleeves cuff very nicely. Buttons stay on very securely, and the material is sturdy but comfy.

Life Altering!

Bought this as an impulse purchase at my local luggage shop and I cannot stress how much I love it. Stuff the mouse, pencil pouch and a banana in it and the whole set-up just works better. Could use for water bottle should my hike get longer than from the parking garage into the office!

A Great Addition!

I finally got my very first Kanken a week ago and was bummed when I found how small the side pockets were; they hardly fit a plastic single-use bottle or an iPhone 8. This bottle pocket has made my backpack perfect! It fits my 1-liter water bottle just fine. I also love the drawstring feature, because I can put my phone and car keys in the pocket & not worry about them falling out.

Good idea, bad execution

Such a great concept. This fixes the biggest issue the Fjallraven Kanken has, extremely small side pockets. Unfortunately it is not executed correctly. When using a larger water bottle (Yeti Rambler 36oz) to accommodate the bigger side pocket, when pulling out the bottle, it pulls out the pocket as well. It is really inconvenient. I am currently using a binder clip to try to hold it into place when retrieving my bottle, which just proves how this idea wasn't thought thoroughly.

Bottle Bag

I am very disappointed to discover the bottle bag is not universal. Ordered one for my Kanken Mini 2 only to discover it does not for on the side pocket. The side pockets are too small so was so excited thinking I had found a solution. Be warned.
