    Solid but room for improvement

    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: XL

Stout jacket. The material seems balanced between durability and weight. Clean seams (still made in asia). I had to get an XL as the large was too tight in the shoulders (41.5 inch chest). I can fit a flannel shirt and lightweight puffy underneath w/o restricting movement. Body is not slim but not "American" either. Areas of improvement: Make a two-tone version similar to the special edition w/o the extra leather accents. Those are pretty much useless and made the jacket look like a yuppie item. Add a second panel to the exterior upper arm portion. This an area of wear and could use some reinforcement. It would also facilitate better waxing. Additionally, a third snap button on the cuff could be nice. This jacket will last years I hope. Planning on winter around town use and day-long outdoor activities.

Great Alternative to Hardshell When Dry

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I use this as a shell over various layers of wool / fleece for mild to moderate activity in temps down to 10 degrees F. I find it much more enjoyable to wear than a standard waterproof/breathable hardshell (in non-rain or wet snow conditions) because it is more breathable than standard hardshells (though I have not waxed mine), way more durable, and doesn't feel like a trash bag when it's cold. Wind resistance is solid. Plus it looks way better.

I'm 6'1", 165 lbs, lanky build and the medium works great when layering. I can fit a chunky wool sweater and two layers of medium weight fleece without any restriction in arm movement. The shoulders and upper arms are cut with lots of room for movement and the body and sleeves taper nicely.

Three minor drawbacks: absence of lower hand pockets is annoying, sleeves are very slightly too short for my long arms and I find the hood to be a little small.

    Great Around Town

Fjallraven's a totally new brand for me this year but I'm psyched on what I've seen so far. I picked this jacket up a couple weeks ago for wearing to work and around town. It's a great outer layer that's stylish and functional. It fits me well and I love the hood. My only complaint would be the lack of pockets for my hands but they have plenty of other styles with them if that's a deal breaker for you.

      Durable, great fit

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: Runs small

I'm really digging this jacket. The fabric is durable, breathable, and the fit is stylin' and comfy. Movement is unhindered with a nice cut on the sleeves and chest.

No handwarmer pockets, but not the biggest deal if you don't think about it.

      Great Styled Layer

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

Fits my frame great. I am 6'5" and weigh 210lbs. The XL fits nicely. I am usually pretty picky about this stuff since my arms are so long. The length works for hiking but aren't long enough for cycling. I will wear mine in the city mostly. I wore it recently on a moto trip from Portland to Northern Idaho. It sheds bugs, absorbs water, dries quickly and looks great.

It might shed water after it is treated. Out of the package it isn't resistant at all. It does dry quickly though.

I am happy with this product.

      Great Jacket

      • Fit: True to size

Great rain and wind jacket. Very light in weight and stylish.
