Perfect All-Around Jacket

This is a premium jacket, and one of my first steps up to this price point. It impresses immensely in style, utility, and comfort, and will be my go-to for activities both in town and in the mountains/outdoors during Colorado fall-winter-spring. I'm almost worried about scuffing it up with rough use since it's so slick looking, but being both sharp and durable is part of the appeal. The inner lining is soft and breathable. The down insulation is on the lighter side. The outer shell is tough and will last for many years, and the zipper has large teeth and a quality feel. I'm 5'10", 150lbs, ordered a S and it fit SLIGHTLY slim, which I like. There is enough space for a base and thin mid layer but little extra. Disclaimer: I've not yet used this jacket in earnest but am expecting it to be as good as it seems.

This item is just simply so cool. I have been looking for a jacket that did not look like everyone else, one that I could wear in downtown Denver that fit my personality but also I could still use and get a little dirty. This jacket fits the bill for sure, I am amazed at how many compliments I get when I wear it. Added bonus, my dog jumped up on me - he is a bigger dog - and if I was wearing another jacket it would have surely ripped and that would be a bummer... this jacket... no problem at all. The outer fabric is tough as nails...

Great alternative to basic down jacket

In short, I love this coat. I was looking to replace my Marmot black down jacket as it has been through it over the years and was ready to be retired. I stumbled across the Fjallraven Greenland No. 1 kind of by accident and am so glad I did. It's a great alternative to the basic down jacket with a bit more sophistication which I didn't know I wanted until I got it. I feel like this coat I can wear to more things than my previous one - whether it's just tooling around town running errands, going for a winter walk, or going out to dinner. It's quite warm and the water resistance that it has straight out of the box is sufficient for a drizzle or accidental spills (something my previous coat was certainly not). I am going to try out the Greenland Wax to improve the waterproofing at least for these winter and spring months. I originally ordered a large and felt like it was a bit baggy and the shoulders a little too broad for me. I am 6'2", 205lbs and have narrow shoulders so that's where I typically run into problems when buying tops. I returned it and went with the Medium and it fits perfectly. I can easily layer a shirt and a light to medium weight sweater under it. The construction is quite nice, the leather trim is a nice touch and the down inner layer feels great if I'm just wearing a t-shirt underneath. It's a heavier coat but not bulky or weighty. My previous jacket didn't have a hood and I'm glad this one does (it's not something I realized I wanted until I had it). I'm looking forward to putting this coat through the ringer over the years as I feel like it hopefully will last me some time with proper care.

My new favorite winter jacket

Fit is perfect with still room for a sweater underneath. I’ve been wearing technical jackets as my daily jackets for quite some time but decided to get something different for everyday wear, preserving my lightweight gear. I’m so happy I did. this jacket just exudes quality. The gray color is awesome. Surprising warm. I’ve had it for a month and it looks like it will be very durable. I have the wax on the way and I plan to treat it. The wrist cuffs were a little stiff at first but I don’t notice it anymore.. The sleeves are long but I can fold them back if I choose. I would not ski or do any other high exertion activities in this jacket.

These things look great and they're clearly built to withstand years of hard use without issue. As someone who finds that size large jackets from Patagonia and Arcteryx fit perfectly, the fit was spot on. Ultimately, I couldn't quite get past the zipper and flap being on the wrong side. Obviously, Euros will disagree, and that's totally fine. It's such a little thing, but considering the asking price I chose to return it rather than deal with the minor annoyance.

Needed a coat for South Dakota winters and so far this jacket is performing perfectly. I have not had it very long, but I already wore it out on a -5F night and stayed warm with a sweater underneath. I have yet to apply the Greenland wax but will soon and look forward to the added waterproofing/wind resistance. I have the black jacket and it is the best looking jacket I have owned.

Sometimes you just don't want to look like you came out of the mountains. I already have a couple of puffies in the closet and wanted something more stylish for around town. This jacket fits the bill perfectly. It keeps me warm and looks great around town. This thing gets a lot of look around town and stands out in the crowd thanks to the waxed canvas look. I love it! I have broad shoulders from climbing so I went up to large to have enough room in the shoulders. A medium would have been a bit snug in the shoulders, but fit great in the torso (nice and somewhat trim).

This Fjallraven jacket has been a favorite of mine for daily wear in the Rockies. Being down, it is incredibly warm, and the G1000 exterior is super durable. I've waxed the entire jacket with the Fjallraven Greenland wax which gives it a nice weathered look and increases water repellency. I've never received as many compliments on a jacket as this one.
