    Barents Insulated Jacket

Like the arctic fox after which Fjallraven named itself, the Men's Barents Down Jacket is made for staying warm in brutal winter climates. This long-fit parka features Fjallraven's durable G-1000 Original fabric, G-1000 HeavyDuty reinforcements, and a Hydratic membrane to keep you dry during heavy snowfall. This fabric also accepts Fjallraven's Greenland Wax for added protection and durability. Supreme Microloft polyester fill insulation keeps you all kinds of toasty while the fur-trimmed adjustable hood lets you batten down the hatches against windy arctic weather. Large pockets accommodate manly things like whiskey flasks, pipe tobacco, binoculars, and shotgun shells. Leather accents add a perfect amount of stylish detail.

    • Hardwearing winter parka protects you in below-freezing climates
    • Hydratic membrane is waterproof to keep water out
    • Supreme Microloft keeps warm even if it happens to get wet
    • Adjustable hood with detachable, synthetic fur edging
    • Adjustments at cuffs and hem ensure secure coverage
    • Item #FJR002N

    Mighty odd fit

    • Size Bought: XL
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 220lbs

The coat is well-made from solid materials, but I can’t imagine a body that this XL would actually fit. I’m 6-2, 220 lbs, and I wear an XL in most coats, though sometimes I have to move up to an XXL. This particular coat was long enough overall, but it was very tight in the chest and armholes—especially the armholes—and it was 3” too long in the sleeves, though it accommodated my stomach pretty well. I bought it at 40% off, which, as it turned out, seemed like a fair price for the coat (if it had fit). I would not have paid full retail for it—it’s simply overpriced. Obviously, I sent it back.

What are the major differences between the Barents parka and the Polar Guide and the Yupik parkas. In terms of tech specs and best use. There are minor price differences. Thanks Robert
