Great quality but the sizing is different

One note on this jacket compared to almost everything else I own fro Fjallraven is that it runs pretty small around the chests - so a Small, which is the same size I own in their parka, puffer jacket, etc - rides up into my armpits on longer hikes and I have to sell it.

Features

Bought a new Abisko light since very pleased with the quality, design and functionality of the fjallraven pants. This jacket has a very flimsy and inappropriate zipper, especially considering the length of the jacket and the increased pressure on the bottom. It also lacks a backup like a button or latch on the bottom. Assume this will fail in the near future especially if there are hands or items in the pockets, that will increase the strain on the zipper.= Already contacting customer service.

Game changer.

This was my first Fjallraven purchase, and i'm very happy with it overall. It solves for me one of the big maybe the biggest problem in trekking/hiking, being hot and sweaty moving and wearing a pack. In summer once i start moving even wearing a t-shirt in the old PFAS-PFC ridden oil based jackets i feel like i'm in a steam room wearing a garbage bag. This sucker breaths and breaths well, the mesh on the sleeves and the back panel, game changers. Make no mistake this jacket is made for movement, and I wouldn't advise wearing it in cold weather for a variety of reasons. I read other reviewer say they wax and bam their G-1000 jacket is waterproof. This has not quite been my experience but i'm wondering if it's maybe me, the way i'm doing it. But, its close, my core stays dry its only the sleeves that sometimes water would bleed through, but hey, the plastic jackets that claim to be waterproof do too and your wet anyway from the inside! The hood, rocks, love the adjustments, length is good but the sleeves are way too long, i have to fold them under or they hang below my hands. Only reason we are not five stars, is where the vents are, they are big and excellent vents but why on earth they are right next to the pockets with zippers the exact same length is beyond me? I frequently reach down to vent only to open my pocket or want to open my pocket then grab the vent zipper. They should move them a tad further apart and make the opening on the pocket shorter or lower. Im 5’8 190 lb’s and wear a medium which over all fits great except the sleeves.

Bra jacka!

188/86 Size 52. Fits really well. Have waxed it quite a lot over the shoulders and hood. Airy, dries quickly. Can be a little bit cold with only a tish under if there is a cold wind blowing. Like my "Abisko lite" very much.

Phenomenally comfortable and functional

One of my favorite articles of clothing and one that gets packed for every.single.trip. It is light enough for warm season rain gear and perfect for fall/spring over a flannel. Tough, durable and light.

The one and only!

Unless it's a torrential downpour, this jacket is all you will ever need. I've been wearing this jacket exclusively on every adventure I've been on in the last year. From 60° days to snowshoeing at 10 below. It is bar none the most awesome versatile shell I've ever owned. It fits perfect with the backpack and you can easily access the pockets in your mid layers from it. Every time I put it on I tell it how much I love it,!!

Zipper is flawed, otherwise great

This is my third Fjallraven jacket. They are pricey but their build quality, materials, and warranty justifies it. This is a great lightweight layer with excellent combination of stretch and durable feeling G1000 fabric. My only complaint is the zipper. Both my other jackets have the same two way zipper and its very smooth on both. This one requires a great degree of fussing to get it right, jamming often. Seems like something I wouldn't want to deal with when tired and in inclement weather. I actually returned my first jacket thinking it was a problem with that specific piece, but the replacement has the same issue just not quite as bad. I decided to keep it because otherwise I really love the look and feel. I just really wish the build quality was on par with other Fjallraven pieces.
