Quantum Climbing Shoe

The Five Ten Men's Quantum Climbing Shoe defies gravity when you're climbing steep sport routes and bouldering overhung problems. It has an aggressive downturn, sharp curvature, and stiff midsole to ensure the highest performance you can muster. Five Ten's famous Stealth C4 rubber gives this shoe good grip on microscopic edges, small smears, and technical terrain. Five Ten redesigned this shoe with a wider last for more comfort on long climbing sessions. Expect limited stretch out of the synthetic Clarino upper, and a lot of comfort out of the padded Ariaprene tongue.

Beware Sizing

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Great shoes. However, depending on origin of manufacture (USA vs. China) the european sizing is different. While I wear a EU.40 for the USA-manufactured shoes they are about 1cm too short on the Chinese origin shoes (at the same EU40 size). I.e., in American sizing, a USA 7.0 ~= China 7.5

Great, but....

These shoes are awesome, but I?ve had 2 pairs now blow out on the toe of the right shoe, was annoyed after the first time, and backcountry replaced it, and then it happened again. To be fair I climb very aggressively and twist around to adjust my feet a lot so I get that it wears, but I?ve never had this happen on other shoes. Oh well, they climb good tho

I bought them for ROCK CLIMBING

Fit Realy well good for edging inside and out. The toe is a bit unsenitive, but there not worn in properly yet so that might improve. Good for trad climbing

Comfortable climbing shoes for long sessions

Went with my street shoe size, fits snug but still very comfortable with the soft inner lining. C4 rubber is quite stiff initially but will break in and become more grippy. Best for long climbing sessions, for hard bouldering go for a more sensitive shoe.

Solid shoe

Very tight fitting, I wear street size 9.5 and usually buy a shoe size down, but these felt tight even in my normal size. It does make the shoe have a secure feel for heels, and the point of the shoe makes the toes feel secure and precise

5.10 Quantum

I own Evolv generals, TC Pro, and these for trad. I'll grab these every time. I have a wider foot, and while my TC are bearable, after a day of foot jamming I'm done. I can climb hard all day in the quantum and they jam, smear, and toe into small holds on the vertical plates around here exceptionally well. In love. Initial pair I ordered I used my TC pro size as a guide but sized up a half size and it was way too tight. Went with my street shoe size and it's perfect balance between all day comfort and performance. A half size down would be beneficial if I was bouldering, but for me the minuscule less performance is a great trade off for happy feet

Did not go well..

I bought these for back to school and people made fun of me. I don't think they are normal running shoes.

For rock climbing/bouldering

Haven't purchased or tried/worn this. But wanted to balance the reviews since 2 of the 3 reviews are from morons that didn't realize this is a ROCK CLIMBING shoe. So before you buy these make sure you are going to CLIMB ROCKS.

Man, it sure is hard to walk in these shoes. It's like they weren't designed to be worn while running. What were they thinking?
