The Stealth Phantom outsoles and canvas uppers of Five Ten's Freerider Canvas Shoes for women mean that they'll be just as appropriate sessioning the park as they are catching spilled beer below a pair of jeans in the pit at a show. Whatever your calendar has in store for a given day, the Freeriders are equal to it.

The Stealth Phantom outsole with Dotty tread keeps you pinned while you're laying tracks on the deck or the pedals, but it leaves no trace on your local watering hole's stained concrete floor. The two-tone uppers recall the skate shoes your older cousin wore in the late '90s and go well with any social event short of your brother's wedding.

    Impressed!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I just bought these shoes and love them. I was so impressed by how sticky the rubber is on the pedals. My foot did not slip! I am normally in between 7 and 7.5. I went with the 7.5 and they are a perfect fit!

    Great mountain bike shoes

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Was looking for a nice pair of flat mtn bike shoes. These are great! Super sticky rubber, cute, and comfy. In regard to sizing, they run pretty true to size. There is a little edge of the footbed that sticks up around the toes. This might bother some. It only annoy d me when I first walked around my house in them. I haven’t thought about it once while riding. This might also be eliminated with getting a bigger size, too. Got the purple color - they are awesome. Highly recommend as flat mtn bike shoes for the ladies.

    Awesome shoe!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Super sticky- they do not come off the pedals. Provides a nice stiff platform. I usually wear an 8 and ordered these in an 8 and they are perfect. Love the indigo color - looks better in person. I had been wearing Vans, but wanted something stiffer. These are stickier, stiffer, and more supportive, but still look like skate shoes. Love them!

Five Ten Freerider Canvas Shoe - Women's

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I was a little concerned about the color when I ordered them because I don't normally purchase such bold colored clothing. In person the color was so rich, I fell in love with them. They are really comfortable to walk and ride in and fit true to size

    Runs too small

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 8 1/2
    • Height: 5'3"
    • Weight: 141lbs

Ordered, waited, received them and too small. Now order, wait and hope they fit and are worth it.

    Gecko Grip with Wide Fit

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These are my first pair mountain bike shoes and I am pretty happy with them. The canvas and rubber are high quality/super grippy, and the sole is fairly stiff which is good for biking on flat pedals. The color that was available in my size is not my favorite but that's a secondary issue considering how great these shoes are.

Sizing: The length fits great at a size 7 (half a size larger than what I usually wear) but the toe box is really wide, especially if you have a narrow last like I do. The extra room may actually be a good thing because it will accommodate natural swelling of the feet during high aerobic activities such as biking, or for all day use in hot temperatures.

Overall impression: Very comfortable, lightweight and high quality entry level mountain bike shoes!

Pimp Grip, Light Lady Shred Shoes

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Wide toe-box area. But, I love these shoes, they are canvas, yet they still retain good stiffness when broken-in. Tried and true stealth rubber makes these perfect for DH and Enduro endeavors. Purple color is vivid and noticeable on the trails from far away.

    Great shoes!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I use to just ride in running shoes then upgraded to a trail running shoe and finally bought these and wow it makes a difference. I no longer have to worry about slipping off pedals since these grip so well. They are stiff shoes with not a lot of support so they aren't that comfy to walk around in but that's not the point. They were meant to be on the trail! I cant wait for spring to use these more.

    i love these shoes !

    • Fit: True to size

i normally wear a 9.5 , i bought the 510 pro in a 9.5 and they were really snug and returned for the size 10 which fit better but i also decided to try these in a 9.5 and glad i did. they fit great super comfortable , i have a few rides in them now and love them - the are super grippy yet, i can still adjust , feel the axle etc. bonus for the cool color too !

    You had me at Purple

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

My gosh, do I dig these shoes. They are so comfy and solid. Cushy bed but the sole is a bit stiff; ideal. Like Vans, but with more cush and structure. I had to return the 9's I purchased for 9.5. For reference, my run shoes are also 9.5. Should have stuck with that but other reviewers said they had to size down. I do not plan on using these for riding, but as approach shoes and around town. The soles are very sticky so I am very eager to try that out more. And, the color is a gorgeous dark purple. Definitely recommend.

    First real bike shoes

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 8
    • Height: 5'6"
    • Weight: 125lbs

These shoes are awesome, I've been mountain biking for years and never worn "bike specific flats", these are so worth it. Super grippy, and comfortable to ride in.

    Grippy, but numb toes

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 9.5
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 160lbs

Great shoe for its grip and stability on the trail. It's also fairly comfortable, except for when I ride continuously for more than 30 minutes. At this point, my toes start to get tingly and numb. I'll keep using them, because otherwise they're a perfect shoe for technical cross country riding and downhill. The canvas was also surprisingly cool, we'll see how they do in 100+ weather this month!

    Great Mt. biking shoe

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 39
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 116lbs

I love my 5.10 Freeride shoes!! My husband bought them for me as a gift. They work great!! I ride flats on a Transition Smuggler. They are almost like clipless!! I am almost glued to them when I ride. I can step off them like nothing when I am riding a technical section of trail and can't make it through. They look great and are so fashionable that I wear them to events around town!! These shoes are super durable. You should buy them!!

Comfort, style, grip, a bit soft in sole

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 9.5
    • Height: 5'5"
    • Weight: 179lbs

I picked these up in the spring and LOVE the comfort, look, and grip. They go easily from trail to almost anywhere.

I don't ride flats all the time, and my previous flat pedal shoes were the Five Ten Impact Karver which were a bit narrow and stiff as a flat shoe for me and my feet would ache on long rides. I had also sized down when I bought the Karvers (down to a 9), and while the length was perfect, I think they might have been too narrow.

So I decided it was time for a more forgiving flat pedal shoe, and I also decided to stick with my normal size (9.5) to fit the width of my foot better.

I need to lace them up a little extra tight as a result, otherwise my feet will slide forward, but the proper fit in the width is really worth it for me.

I find these to be a little soft for longer rides (certainly softer vs the Karvers), so keep that in mind when choosing your shoe.

I am tempted to turn these into my everyday sneakers though. Aside from being a bit soft on long rides, I love everything else about them. (And as a bonus, I love that they come in a lighter color - grey- which is far more ideal for hot desert climates)

    Perfect shoe!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 8.5
    • Height: 5'8"

Love these shoes; super comfy for riding flats then going out for food. Shoe locks onto pedals for a smooth ride, almost like being clipped in! Only complaint is they get dirty super quick!

    Perfect shoe!

    Stylish!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs small

After multiple seasons in Freerider VXI, my girlfriend wore out her shoes and chose to replace them with these. These are certainly more stylish, but there are a couple of key differences.

    * Ankle is less protected
    * Fit is tighter and narrower. She sized up 1/2 size.
    * Canvas isn't as burly as the leather uppers of the Freerider VXI

great shoe - fits slightly large

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 7.5
    • Height: 5'5"
    • Weight: 130lbs

I really have been loving my new kicks - however I needed to size down a half size from my first order. The toe area is much wider and heel narrow, which is great for a women's fit. I am normally an 8 in athletic shoes, but have settled on the 7.5 for this shoe.

    For The Ladies

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size
    • Height: 6'1"
    • Weight: 185lbs

I bought these for my wife because she has never had proper mountain bike shoes before. To say she loves them is an understatement.

In the past, women's outdoor gear has been smaller and pink colored versions of men's gear. "Shrink it and pink it" the designers would say. Luckily that trend has been disappearing quickly. In Spring 2015 Five Ten changed their women's shoes from smaller versions of men's shoes to a shoe design that is based on a woman's foot. It has a narrower heel and a wider forefoot than previous women's shoes Five Ten has produced.

Pick yourself up a sweet pair of these Freeriders and ride your hearts out, ladies!

    Unanswered Question

I'd like to buy a pair in Size 40 for my daughter. Should I order 7.5, 9 0r 6.5? ie Are the sizes displayed US Mens, US Womens or UK?

How well do these shed mud and dust from the trails? I currently have a pair of the men's black (non-canvas) Freeriders (that are too big, hence wanting to get the women's version) that are a pain to keep clean. These are such a light colour that I would worry about them getting even dirtier during use.
