Farther down the rabbit hole.

Canyons only increase in magical mystery as you rappel lower and lower, sort of how everything only gets wetter and wetter. The waterfalls pouring down caves make for larger lakes sparkling below you, and the Five Ten Men's Canyoneer 3 Canvas Shoe is ready for each pool of water as well as the dirty trails that get you to the canyon. Its Stealth S1 rubber assures traction on dirty, muddy, and completely submersed terrain.

Consulting with global Search and Rescue Teams, Five Ten underwent the most rigorous process—a process that took fifteen years in production—to ensure enhanced safety features from common hazards in canyon and river environments. The stiff midsole prevents penetration from falling rocks and debris in the flood, and the heel cage provides protection from rolling ankles when you're jumping from ledges to puddles.

  • Canyoneering-specific hiker designed for wetter adventures
  • Stealth S1 rubber with excelled traction on wet and dry terrain
  • Stiff, penetration-resistant midsole for protection in rivers
  • Abrasion-resistant canvas upper with welded rubber rands
  • Svelte heel cage ensures stability to support ankle

Solid shoe, good grip in water

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 8.5
  • Height: 5'3"
  • Weight: 130lbs

I purchased these shoes for canyoneering in Zion. They worked like a charm. Super good grip on wet rock. I was wearing a dry suit so I bought them a little large to accommodate the booties and extra socks. I normally wear a womens 8 and the mens 8.5 worked really well. All the outfitters were renting these shoes to their clients as well.

everything I required and more

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I live in the pacific north wet, and I enjoy being outdoors more often than not. I required boots that were extremely waterproof, lightweight, and able to withstand a very athletic regiment as I use these not only for hiking, but for disc golf as well. They have surpassed my expectations, and so far are much more durable than any other high quality shoe I have used for these activities so far. I am pairing them with a neoprene "aqua" sock as the ankle support is a bit stiff for full on athletics in the beginning and tend to dig into your ankles, but do soften over time with use. That being said it is a very dry and comfortable situation through miles and hours of use and I would personally love it if fiveten would even consider sponsoring disc golfers, and making disc golf specific shoes that would further progress with the sport, FIVETEN holler at me!! I highly recommend these boots for all that want the most comfortability and dryness in the most extreme of wet conditions.

I've owned two pairs of canyoneer's over the years and they have been great. I use them primarily for whitewater kayaking and the grip it second to none. The first pair of canyoneer's I had lasted for a little over 2 years of hard use before the soles started to come off. This can be expected with any shoes you put through the works. I recently got the Canyoneer 3's before a self support trip down the grand canyon. They fit true to size and had the same grip I've grown to know and love from 5-10. The one thing i'd say is the ankle support wasn't quite there with this version because switched to laces instead of the buckles. This was one of my biggest draws to the shoe so it was a little disappointing. However it looks like the 'canyoneer 3 canvas shoe' may have fixed this issue with a strap across the top. The shoes I currently have are the Canyoneer 3''s

Re the Five Ten Canyoneer 3, I am planning on wearing a pair of 3 mil neoprene socks with these. Should I buy a size up?
