You've never been one to call it quits early.
Once the tailgate is shut and your rod is spooled up, you're not coming back to the rig until lightning chases you off the river or the sun ducks behind the hills. You never really know what you'll encounter out there, and rain storms are frequent in the high country, so load up the Fishpond Summit Sling with everything you need to stay out on the water until you're good and ready to call it quits.
This large, sling-style pack from Fishpond carries everything you need when you plan on fishing all day with a large zippered main compartment that will hold an extra layer, lunch, and a beverage or two, and a large, molded, drop-down fly bench that will carry all the bugs you need for a full day on the water. An integrated net slot secures your hog hauler for those times you need a little help with that big-bellied brown you hooked on a hopper, and a grip of accessory attachment points give you plenty of space to attach all of your fishing tools. Like all Fishpond packs, the Summit Sling is made from an eco-friendly Cyclepond fabric, which is a nylon made from recycled fishing nets.

So far so good
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
So far this pack seems like it will be exactly what i wanted. I have worn it around to test how it sits but have yet to get it out on the water. Im still working out this setup but initial opinion is that it will work out very well.
Great pack, mediocre fit
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
The pack itself is great. The quality, construction, features, etc. on this pack are stellar. However, I just really do not like the fit. The sling slides around a ton sitting very low on your back...almost sliding like you would bring it around to work on tray. This got even worse when I would hang my net off the pack.
I will try other fishpond gear in the future, maybe it was just this one item that is not right or me.
