Poorly Designed & Crappy Quality Control

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I returned these boots after using them three times. The problem was that the panel that holds the laces on began to tear away from the side of the boot. The fact that the lace panel is glued, not stitched, in is indicative of the poor quality construction. Likewise, the waterproof zipper that they have chosen here uses tiny plastic teeth. Although my zippers had not failed after only three uses it is clear to me that this was going to be a problem down the road. I wish that these boots had held up. I wish that they were made in a factory with rigid quality control standards or by a company that cared. They are very warm and comfortable. They feel good on my size 10 mens feet (44 in EU sizing.) But what's the point of a backcountry ski boot that will never survive an actual trip into the backcountry?

Warm and supportive

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

These are warm and comfortable even in sub zero temps. I only wear a medium weight compression socks and my feet stay warm for hours. Sadly there are a few not so great features The lacing system takes quite a bit of effort to get the fit snug. Sometimes requiring an adjustment on the trail. Once you get it right, they usually feel great the rest of the day. The stock footbed was woefully inadequate for my feet and was replaced after two painful trips. But to be fair, I put aftermarket inserts into most of my footwear. They are a bit heavy for on trail use but the warmth and stability are excellent off trail.
