    Sky's the limit.

Leading its class with unrelenting power transfer and an unbelievable fit, the Fi'zi:k Men's R1 Infinito Cycling Shoe is the ultimate platform for competitive racers and the most discerning of cyclists. As Fi'zi:k's top-flight road shoe, the R1 Infinito is extremely light at only 232 grams, conforms brilliantly with its Increased Volume Control, and lays down power with a unidirectional carbon sole.

Fi'zi:k uses dual Boa IP1-B dials to conform the Microtex upper to the exact shape of your foot without pressure points plaguing you throughout your riding and racing efforts. They call this Increased Volume Control, which makes sense seeing the shoe's upper wraps your foot like a glove, regardless if you have slightly wide or narrow feet. The entire system tightens with steel-coated nylon laces running through textile guides that evenly distribute pressure as you tighten each Boa dial.

Looking to the R1 Infinito's sole, you'll reap the benefits of unidirectional carbon that's laterally stiff, lightweight underfoot, and ventilated to regulate temperature on those stifling summer days. This extremely stiff carbon sole makes sure every watt of energy is directed into forward momentum during racing scenarios and training rides where every second counts.

    • Top-flight shoe for the most discerning of cyclists
    • Perforated Microtex upper for supple comfort and ventilation
    • Increased Volume Control with Boa IP1-B dials for glove-like fit
    • Steel-coated nylon laces with guides to prevent pressure points
    • Dynamic arch support ensures feet are stabilized inside shoe
    • Mesh-lined footbed disperses moisture when you're sweating
    • Full unidirectional carbon sole for maximum power transfer

    True to size

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 42.5
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 165lbs

I wear a 9.5 in US and the size chart was spot on. The size chart recommends a 42.5 EU. I ordered the 9 3/4 thinking they would run small, returned them to competitive cyclist for a full refund. The customer service is why I shop at CC. Call them direct for the return label. FYI..I do not have a wide foot, no arch problems. I purchased these shoes because of the BOA closures and the location of such (sides). No review required, it’s a quality well priced cycling shoe.

great shoe, just not for for my feet

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

Very nice shoe. Wanted Fizik shoes for a long time so I finally popped for them. I am a long time Sidi person and just wanted to make a switch. Wear 43.5 in Sidi and ordered 43 Fizik, length seemed identical. Problem was this: narrow in the forefoot area and toe area was restrictive. Boa closure is fine, the way the shoe wraps around is nice, no bite, just secure. Very stiff sole. I am 57 and as we age the old feet spread out - I always had narrow feet, not any more. So if you're narrow and don't need a lot of room for toes, perfect. I say true to size, but run narrow. I will say, CompCyclist was a life saver in letting me return them after riding in them, 30 day fit guarantee. That's worth a lot in my book.

    Fizik R1 Infinito

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I am 66 year old, 5'5", 138 pounds and riding high end road bikes for 40+ years. Preference is more for climbing. I am not a Clydesdale. I needed new road shoes. I usually wear a size 42 road shoe, 42 running shoe or size 9 in Nike and Mizuno. Dress shoes are usually size 8.5 and often narrow. My instep is low and high arches. I opted for Fizik R1 Infinito because of:
    1) narrow last
    2) Boa closure system
I have used these for about 8 rides from 20-45 miles each. Overall the impressions are these are a very good riding shoe. More specifically for fit and feel:
*very light weight (plenty of web sites to discuss weight weeny stuff)
*Boa system works very well: figure 8 front Boa closure creates glove like fit and no pressure points
    *Top Boa is equally comfortable
*High quality upper and carbon fiber sole
*Extremely stiff sole but comfortable because of "glove like" upper
*I selected a 41.5 size and this is perfect; a 42 would have been too large
*Toe box height is more than adequate
    The Ride:
*Similar to light weight wheels, light shoes assist with quick "spin up" and acceleration; R1 Infinito are great
*Smoothness of the pedal stroke is very noticeable; likely because of the glove fit without any pressure points, combined with stiff sole
*Since climbing is my preference, I am pleased to report these are excellent climbing shoes
    *Energy transfer is extremely efficient
    Side notes:
The factory insole is nice quality but did not work for my high arch and low instep. I replaced with Superfeet Green insole (as with all my athletic shoes). The combination of the Boa system, the upper shoe design and the Superfeet create a long distance comfort with high performance paybacks.
