    A classic.

There’s not much we could say about the Fizik Arione that hasn’t already been said. What speaks louder, though, is a quick look at the bike storage racks in the office –if it has drop bars, it almost certainly has an Arione on it. The secret is Fizik’s Wing Flex technology, which allows the saddle edges to flex as you pedal. This translates to a more natural pedal stroke and less fatigue on long rides.

    • Slightly longer and narrower than the Aliante

not for me, but good quality

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I rode this saddle for about a year before I finally decided it wasn't right for me. Despite this, the quality is spot-on and the aesthetics are clean. I did like that this saddle affords many positions to sit in (sliding forward on climbs, etc.).

    A standard

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I switched to this saddle about 2 years ago and I am sold for life. I was switching saddles almost once a year before I found the Arione. As soon as I put it on my bike and went for a ride I knew it was a perfect fit. There was no breaking it in or getting used to it. It was perfect from the beginning. Even feels great on a century. I also love the Fizik saddle bag that attaches to the back of the saddle.

Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it is slightly heavier than comparable saddles. However, you can upgrade to the Arione with carbon braided rails to save on weight.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

There isn't a lot to say, but if the saddle fits, wear it! First rode a friend's Arionne years ago when they first came out. Comfy from the get go, and plenty long to change positions depending on terrain, pace, etc... Tough to go wrong if it suits your anatomy, and even better that it's not necessary to blow the budget.

    Nothing like it.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The Arione is, by far, the most comfortable road saddle I have ridden in about 10 years of riding. I have tried a slew of Specialized saddles but none have compared to the Arione. If you need a saddle to get you through those 3+ hour rides, look no further. Now they just need to make a gold one...

    Go Black/Black Suede Stripe

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The black suede stripe totally adds just enough grip to keep me from sliding around. My previous saddle was white and the bike seat never stayed stark white.

Some seats address comfort by adding a butt load (see what I did there?) of padding, but in my opinion that strategy only gets you a bouncy ride and a sore butt. This saddle bends and flexes at all the right spots so less bulky padding is needed to make an extremely comfortable ride.

True to other reviews, this is a long saddle. For me, I found it to be advantageous!

Flite (90') vs Arione or Arione Cx

I have problems with flite, because that saddle does not allow you much positions changes, so because of friction by high cadance, and lots of pressure on soft area, my bibshort also sport short are worn out, I'm flexible but I am not sure that I should buy arione. What is your advice that which kind of fizik saddle I should buy?

In addition, can you tell me what are the certain differences between arione and arione cx by all edges?

I have had Arione for years now and only have had the "basic" Arione Ppros 225gm. I bought a bike that came with the Antares, no luck, I tried the Arione EVO, too hard, I also tried the newer arione with the cutout, no flexibility. I now have gone back to the basic Arione and am quite happy with that model ( I am 5'-9" and about 155 lbs. Start with that one is my advice

      I am a Believer

I had an average saddle that came with my bike when I bought it. I decided it was time for an upgrade and I am so glad I did. I tried this saddle out because I took the "Fizik Test" online, (for those who don't know Fizik's website has a test to see what saddle fits you best.) This saddle is great. I used no chamois cream and was able to ride 75+ with no soreness. Great design and feels great.

        great for long rides

Used this on my first double and without cream I didn't start hurting till around mile 165. All saddles are made for different behinds but this one is well constructed and offers compatibility with the Fi'zi:k clip saddle bags.

          Unanswered Question

Hi guys, whats the width of this particular model? I've heard there is a large Arione, with a width measure of 142mm. Thanks

Does anybody have a preference between the suede strip of glossy strip in the middle? I was thinking the suede would be make the seat 'sticky' so I'd move around less, but I'm worried it might be too 'sticky' for actual use.

I was measured for a saddle at 143mm. I'm 5'11" and weigh 260lbs. I want to find a saddle that will be comfortable for long distances. Working on doing 100 miles a week and want to improve on that. Which Fizik saddle would be right for me? I've been riding for a year now and 35 miles is my longest ride so far.

Fi'zi:k saddles focus mostly on the way you bend forward.

How you bend forward will determine how to find the right angle for your sit bones/taint area. This is an area that Fi'zi:k does well at.

going from 30-100 is obviously a big change in riding style and stamina (not in the way you are thinking).

I am very happy with my Fi'zi:k but i went to an authorized dealer to confirm my saddle fit.

What is the best seat for a big guy 60years old, 6'1" 260lb ride 120 mi/week?

Man that is alot of miles for a big guy, you may not that big if you keep it up. I assume you have a larger frame structure since you call yourself a big guy.

There are few seats if demographic and this seat, the Arione you will want' to avoid forsure. One seat that is still high-performance and light weight but is made for larger guys is the Selle Italia Flite Max. It is a awesome and comfortable seat with 150mm width.
