Argo Vento R5 Saddle
When we’re sprinting for the town line sign, the last thing we want distracting us is saddle discomfort. Fizik’s Argo Vento R5’s short nose design is ideal for keeping an aggressive forward position on the bike to earn bragging rights at the county line or the crit finish. The R5 model delivers the same stable shaping as the higher price-point models, with a carbon-reinforced shell and alloy rails, rather than a full carbon construction.
The Argo is Fizik’s most versatile saddle shape, meant to fit a wide range of riders, and the Vento R5 model is ideal for racing and aggressive riding with a carbon-reinforced shell and ergonomic design. A proper fit and the stable shaping of the Argo Vento translates to greater pedaling efficiency, rather than shifting fore and aft to find a comfortable position. The ergonomic center cutout and dropped nose design prevents numbness and pressure on soft tissue so we can focus on our pedal stroke, while the reactive foam padding optimizes power transfer and rider comfort. Fizik’s R5 shell with ride-compliant carbon-reinforced nylon and alloy eliminates road vibration without losing efficiency.

It's really a 3.5
- I've used it several times
- True to size
- 5` 4"
- 140 lbs
Let's call this a 3.5... this is a racing saddle. RACING is the point to take away from this. I don't recommend this for seated endurance rides at any length. It's light enough for the price range, but like the r1 saddle it feels great for 45 minutes and any longer than that it's unbearable. Lots of hotspots and sit bone pressure, which is surprising because for the first 30 minutes it feels like a pillow. I would recommend this to anyone who is putting it on a race bike where they intend to stand for lots of efforts. Do NOT put this on the training bike you use for doing 3.5 hours at endurance pace or anything like that. Additionally, there aren't a million ways to sit on this one, it gives you a solid powerful position and you're pretty much stuck there.
