Can we get a 10-4 on the Faction Skis Ten5 Ski? Roger that, captain. Or you can Rogers Pass that, too. Ten5, referring to the 105mm waist width, is the name of the game for all-mountain fun. And what's in a name? Well, for these sticks, it means a propensity for pow dustings, an aptitude for busting through crud and chop, and lust for laying it over on hardpack and groomers. The poplar and beech core balances dampness, weight savings, strength, and snappiness for an ultimately playful, powerful, and responsive ski. Add in a strong, light, chatter-quieting titanal sheet, and you get a ski with maximum torsional rigidity that wouldn't be a nightmare to tour on.
Though you'll never find Faction in the racecourse, they did glean their Dual Radius Sidecut tech from world-cup race planks. Front of the boot center, the turn radius gets it right and gets it tight like early 2000s rap songs, while a 20% larger sidecut behind the boot increases edge-to-edge responsiveness for smooth turn initiation, wicked precision, and a bit of extra help when landing in the backseat. Transition zones, camber underfoot, and a rockered tip and tail provide burly edging power with a floaty, jibby feel in soft snow.
