A spring in your pedal stroke.

We'll say it: Fabric's Cell Elite Saddle doesn't look much like most of the saddles on Competitive Cyclist. Is it gel? Is it squishy? Both were questions we had when we first took a look at it, and we can answer that yes, it is somewhat squishy, but no, it's not made of gel. We can also say that like everything newcomer Fabric has given us thus far, the Cell Elite delivers striking modern aesthetics and simple functionality that belies its accessible price. Grab one now if your commuter saddle isn't cutting it and see what we're so excited about.

Fabric built the Cell Elite for commuters, correctly assuming that their needs are different than those of recreational and competitive cyclists. Commuters generally occupy a more upright position, so Fabric shaped the Cell Elite to a more forgiving 155mm width to accommodate that distinction. Cell cushioning—that squishy material that so surprises cyclists long accustomed to rigid race shelves—uses air spring technology to add support and relief without absorbing every last bit of energy you're trying to put in the pedals. Fabric borrowed the tech from the running industry, so if you pound pavement when you're not on your bike, you'll understand the springy feeling Fabric hopes to achieve in the Cell Elite. Solid steel rails, a durable nylon shell, and a waterproof rubber cover round out this worthwhile investment in your commuting setup.

    Most comfortable saddle ever

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have ridden for over 35 years. I like a true saddle shaped saddle, not a flat one, I get saddle sores from flat saddles. Before this I found the 1990's Vetta Saddles were a great fit for me. Can't get them anymore, so... Tried a Fizik Kurve Bull. That was very close to being the right shape, but not 100%. The Fabric Cell is a perfect fit for my backside, because it conforms to me. It has a lot of vertical compliance, but no squishy side to side movement like most Gel Saddles. Here in Northern California the roads are fun to ride, but rough - the compliance is nice to have. The Fabric Cell perfectly conforms to my tush. No more saddle sores - Yeah. Even the nose is comfortable for those times when you need to be up there. Glad I found his saddle and decided to give it a try.
