Our Partners in Outdoor Adventure
4 Nonprofits to Support on Giving Tuesday
Connecting people to their passions—that’s what we’re all about. But it’s a mission that’s impossible to accomplish on our own. Over the years, we’ve partnered with some incredible organizations to help us help connect people to what they love doing outside.
This Giving Tuesday, we wanted to highlight some of our partners and the work they’re doing to make our experience in the backcountry the best it can be. If you want to protect your backcountry, help more people adventure outside, or are passionate about backcountry skiing, here are a few nonprofits to consider donating to on Giving Tuesday.
The Nature Conservancy
A global environmental nonprofit, The Nature Conservancy has worked to protect more than 119 million acres of land. Since 2008, we’ve partnered with the Conservancy to protect the places we love.
When Bear Ears National Monument, our own backyard, came under threat, we worked with the Conservancy to raise public awareness about how to make your voice heard. We’ve also continued to support The Nature Conservancy’s work at the Canyonlands Research Center, located in Bears Ears National Monument, as well as its ongoing efforts in removing invasive species from the Colorado River.

Wildland Firefighter Foundation
In 2018, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection announced that it was the worst year on record for wildfires in the state, totaling over 1.6 million acres of burned land. Wildfires consume and destroy both public and private land, and fires blaze through our favorite wilderness areas, rendering them unusable for years.
Wildland firefighters bravely venture into danger to contain these fires and prevent them from spreading to inhabited areas. The Foundation assists families of firefighters killed or injured in the line of duty. We have partnered with the Wildland Firefighter Foundation to honor those who have lost their lives defending our homes and wildlands, and we think this is a more than worthy cause for your Giving Tuesday support.
National Ability Center
The National Ability Center (NAC) is a world-class organization that provides access to all kinds of outdoor activities for people with disabilities. We partnered with the NAC around the shared mission of breaking down barriers between humans and nature.
This past September, we invited 10 speakers to our Stoke Series Live fundraiser event to share stories about how they’ve overcome barriers between themselves and nature. At this sold-out event, people from all over the country came to listen to personal stories and support the NAC’s goal of making the outdoors accessible to all.
Utah Avalanche Center
We love snow. But we also want to be safe while we ski and ride the backcountry. The Utah Avalanche Center (UAC) helps keep all of us touring our favorite ranges in the state safely through avalanche education and forecasting. Through events and donations, we’ve supported the UAC in its effort to make our home state a safer place to enjoy the backcountry in the winter.
We’ve co-hosted many events with the UAC in the past, and we have a free Stoke Series event coming up on December 3 at our Park City office. Join us to learn about route planning and preparation in avalanche-prone areas.
