The Ex Officio Men's Give-N-Go Boxer Brief is the one pair you'll pack every time. These breathable boxers air dry in a few hours so you can wash as you go and carry fewer pairs. Made from Give-N-Go Stretch, these three inch inseam briefs move with you and wick perspiration, which makes them as ideal for traveling or backpacking. Ex Officio treated these boxer briefs with a Silvadur odor-resistant finish, so if you can't do laundry for a day or three, your boxers won't offend.

My new favorite boxers. I have multiple pairs and have found that they run a little on the large size. I started off in size large, but dropped down to medium. I love these boxers. All day comfort. Cool. Dry.

    Awesome boxer!

I've been wearing these hiking, trail running, yoga, and work; by far the most comfortable boxers I have owned. They breath, don't ride, DON'T smell, and DON'T snag my leg hair!

They're the only boxer you'll find in my closet

The most amazing pair of underwear I own not a joke! I first debated whether to spend the money on these or not but I will tell you that it is worth it ten times over. I wear these on every backpacking trip I go on and they have seen over 500 miles of trail and are still in the same condition as day 1. They don't chafe and also they don't get super smelly and they dry fairly quickly. I wish I had enough pairs to just wear these every day for the rest of my life! Great for anything active.

I got a pair of these 7 or 8 years ago. They have been around the world with me. China, Thailand, India, Indonesia, and they were great for the Appalachina Trail, NOBO Thru hiker 2014. My old ones were getting a bit stretched and I was starting to roll them at the waist to have them fit right.

2017 rolls around and they are on sale. I am long overdue for some new ones. I get two pairs of the same size, Medium. The material feels great but as I hold them up to the old pair, they look big. try them on and they feel more like boxers, not boxer-briefs. I even rolled them up. I spent an entire day picking wedges and trying to keep these in place.
These are not the same underwear that made Ex-Officio so great. I do not recommend and I will be returning both pairs.

Good, but not the best value.

Consider this: Unless you are Benjamin Franklin, or you live in a nudist colony, you probably spend at least a good half of your life wearing underwear. In my mind, that makes them pretty important; definitely not something to be a cheapskate about just because they aren't a fashion statement.
That being said, I have tried many different varieties of "premium" underwear out there, and therefore feel qualified to review these underwear with a critical eye.

To start off with, let me say that these underwear are really quite good. They are lightweight, comfortable, and breathable. They also promise to eliminate odors, allowing you to wear them for several days at a time. I'll be honest, my dedication to a good review only goes so far. I didn't test this last feature extensively because, hey, I like to wear fresh underwear. Sue me.

If these underwear are so great, why am I only giving them four stars? Because, in my opinion, there are other options out there that offer similar features at lower prices, or better features at the same price. I have listed them below for your reading pleasure.

    1. Cheaper, similar features:

    Uniqlo Airism mesh underwear. 9.90$

    2. Similar features (anti-odor, moisture wicking) slightly cheaper + Bamboo!

    Evolatree Bamboo boxer briefs: 18.49$

There are others, but I think the above selections truly stand out in terms of value. Don't get me wrong, ExOfficio makes a good pair of boxers, but unless you plan on going on a trip where you need to wear your underwear for long periods of time, and feel it important that your nether regions possess an odor somewhat fresher than the local gym, there are (in my opinion) more cost effective options for daily usage available.

Bought these for my husband and her is what he had to say:

These are tight in all the right places, and loose in all the right places. I absolutely love them. They take underwear to a whole new level. Great for getting out side and touring, or even going to the gym. Get these guys if you want to treat yo self.

A little pricey, but I can't complain about the fit or wear. Made a three week Florida trip last year these shorts did has guaranteed.

Bought these before and now these are all my husband wants to wear. They are extremely soft, attractive, and comfortable. You will want more than a few pairs.

I don't know how I've gone this long with out these in my life. I use to think paying 5 or more dollars for underwear was absolutely ludicrous, but when I put that first pair on and felt the gentle hug of that breathable material against my nether regions, I knew i had to throw out ALL of my other underwear and buy a pair for everyday of the week plus two more for the days I felt to lazy to do an laundry.

I don't think I've ever seen an item of clothing that gets the rave reviews these things do. Having worn them exclusively for about 8 years now, I will tell you why: they are the best. Seriously. They are comfortable, durable, quick-drying, and don't take up much space in your pack. I spent years trying to find underwear that didn't do all the unpleasant things that the wrong pair can do to a man, and finally found these.

Believe the reviews, guys. These are great.

I tried out a pair of these in size large and they were a little too loose. Medium fits perfect. I'm 6'3" 220 lbs with a 34" waist. The material is light, extremely breathable, and feels great next to the skin....you forget it is there. This is my new favorite underwear.

    Perfect

Bought these for my husband and he absolutely loves them. They are very, very soft and breathe well while also being fitted enough to wear under dress slacks. You will not regret getting a pair - or 10 - of these.

    These things are the titties

I never leave reviews for gear, but felt compelled here. These things are the best boxers I've ever worn. I'm very picky about fit, but they are the perfect blend of support/comfort, great for either hiking/fishing or another day at the office under slacks. These are like a May '77 Dead show.... just exactly perfect. Just buy yourself a pair.

As a climber I have a hard time finding the right pair of boxers to deal with those pesky harnesses. Fortunately for me, I picked up a pair of these and since using them, have decided I won't ever go back. These wick super well, are incredibly comfortable, and overall don't really even feel like they're there. They run true to size, no issues there, and like Tyler said below, they are a snug fit, but definitely not compression shorts.

If you haven't picked up a pair of these yet, you're missing out.

Woke up to some kids egging our house and chased em down in these and was EXTREMELY impressed with how they act when active. Were talkin' good support, super breathable, AND after all that activity.. I could definitely wear them again - zero smell. In all honesty these are worth the price and live up the the expectations. They're not compression shorts... just an fyi. But they are a boxer brief (so somewhat snug) and in my opinion that's what you need for every day undies. Five start, will buy again.

I'm trying to find an upgrade to my boyfriend's hanes underwear which keep disintegrating on him. He spends a lot of time working out and as such has a 30" waist (though he's been getting 32-34 in hanes to adjust for his thighs), and pretty massive thighs that bust seams. He likes boxer briefs and I see all the great reviews but not sure any are from folks with a similar physique. Any recommendations on an appropriate size? Was thinking a medium...

I would go with a small actually. I am a 32-34 and I comfortably wear a med and ExO tends to run a touch on the bigger size. I don't think the tree trunk thighs will be an issue for him, we work with a lot of skiers and bikers.

    Hope this helps!

    do these dry out fast?

Hey Michael - These definitely dry pretty fast if you get them wet. I have also used them as impromptu swim trunks and they dry in 5-10 minutes in the sun and wind. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions.

    - Kyle L. - Expert Gearhead

    HI Michael,

Yeah these dry super fast, the fabric (Give-n-Go) was developed by ExOfficio to dry extremely fast. I have used them on multiple backpack of 3-15 days and traveling all over the world - they work great and last a long time!

I just got my large pair, and they are not...

I just got my large pair, and they are not tight as seen in the pictures.

Should I go for a medium, or is it ok for the fabric to not be motionless (lower part)

    Thanks.

I wear 34 or 36 jeans would you recommend...

I wear 34 or 36 jeans would you recommend M or L for me?

If you are usually at a 36 I would go with a large, but if you are usually a 34 I would go with a Medium. That waist size is tough, because that is where the size splits. I am a 34 and can definitely say that it is on the high end of the medium option.

Hi, I have always loved ExOfficio's normal...

Hi, I have always loved ExOfficio's normal boxers, however, I recently got a small hernia pretty low down and the doc said that I need to be wearing something that is much more supportive. He recommended a jock, however, that's just not very comfortable for every day use. I was wondering if these are fairly supportive in that area or if the briefs would be a better option. Thanks!

    Hi Eric,

The ExOfficio Boxer Brief certainly offer more support than the boxer. The Brief offers the most however. My recommendation would be to pick up a pair and take them to the doc for an official verdict. Taking chances down there is far to risky in my opinion!!

Can you wear exofficio boxer briefs under...

Can you wear exofficio boxer briefs under shorts or will they show if shorts are not too short obviously. Which are better for long distance hiking, the snug fitting boxer briefs or boxer shorts?
    Mike

Yeah you can wear the boxer briefs with shorts,, they are not too long. As far as long distant hiking, it tends to be a personal preference for the boxer briefs vs boxer shorts. I own 2 pairs of the boxer shorts and they are extremely comfortable. I just recommend what you are use to wearing.

Hi, How much difference in looseness/tightness...

    Hi,
How much difference in looseness/tightness compare to the Boxer ones?

I'm planning to wear ExOfficio Give-N-Go under Merino long johns for my mountain expedition and I was thinking of getting Boxer Brief as from what I understand they are tight fitting.
What about Boxer ones, are they very loose?
Will they be uncomfortable to the body under tight fitting merino long johns?

I'm 5.7 with 30" waist and so will be getting Size S in ExOfficio Give-N-Go.

    Thanks for your help.

I think you are right on. The Boxer Brief is a tighter fit and will be super comfortable!
the Boxers fit like traditional boxers, loose. I wouldn't say uncomfortable, but they fabric will bunch up under a tight fitting baselayer.
and yes I would recommend a size small.
Be sure to send ExO pics from your expedition!

How's the waist band on these? I've got...

How's the waist band on these? I've got a couple pair of Icebreaker 150's, and the merino is nice, but the waist band is this sharp nylon/elastic type material that chafes and cuts into my skin a bit. Fine if you fold the waistband over, but then they don't fit right, and want to fold back.

Also, how's the anti-stink on these? I'm always nervous that the artificial anti-stink additives will wear off after a few uses/washes.

What is the difference between the Boxer...

What is the difference between the Boxer and Boxer Brief? Does the Brief has a form fit?

I have a 33" waist. What size should I pick? It sounds like a medium may fit better.

    Thanks!

Can you use bleach on the ExOfficio Give-N-Go...

Can you use bleach on the ExOfficio Give-N-Go White Boxer Briefs?

Hey Stan, bleach is not a good companion with nylon products. Bleach will turn nylon yellow as well as possibly weaken the fabric. You can use OxiClean which seems to be the most effective way of cleaning white nylons.

I'm 5'10" weigh around 165 and have about a 30-31" waist. I've heard to size down in these. would a small be appropriate?

Do they make these in a long underwear...

Do they make these in a long underwear version? In the military, mideast would work wonders for sand chaffing.

two questions. One: why are these boxer...

two questions. One: why are these boxer briefs called Give-N-Go? Two: how many of you use a pair of these boxer briefs under a swimsuit, wetsuit, or even by themself for swimming, canoeing, tubing, surfing, waterskiing, diving, or any other water event? Also mention the water activity name, if you wear it without anything or what you wear it with, and the boxer briefs's color. okay, one more question. When i first registered in this website, they wanted a picture of "this gear in action". Does that mean i should post a picture of me swimming in my blue Ex Officio boxer brief? ( I have a picture of me swimming in my city's recreational pool with my friends while wearing red Fruit of the Loom boxer briefs and my blue board shorts that are a bit big handy) But no, if it ain't Ex Officio, it ain't goin' on this website. Sigh. Please respond.

    lammy,
Give-n-Go is the name of the material they are made of, and yes naming your product after the material would be like Levi's simply being called Denim.

#2- Water sports- Yes and yes. While swimming in them alone may not be visually satisfying for the other participants, they work, but I would recommend holding them if you plan on doing any cliff diving.
And yes again, posting pictures of yourself in your ExOfficio Boxer Briefs on a website for anyone with an internet connection to see and share while we appreciate the excitement you may want to think twice, or just let it rip!!

Do these boxer briefs have a fly?

Do these boxer briefs have a fly?

    I'm 6'2" skinny as hell = about 145-150lbs...

I'm 6'2" skinny as hell = about 145-150lbs and the size I should get is medium according to their chart. Several people mentioned to size down. Advice?

I'm slightly less lanky (6', 155 lbs, 31-32" waist) and got the small, which I've been happy with. They fit snugly, which I prefer, but not at all uncomfortably. They are actually tightest around my thighs; there is plenty of stretch left in the waist.

I am 5'10'' 150lbs with a 30'' waist. I got a medium, but wish I would have purchased a small because these boxer briefs now fit like boxers. Not tight in the thigh at all and very loose around the jewels. Hope that helps.
