Whatever the climb throws at you.

The multi pitch route Levitation 29 consists of every style from crack to technical face moves, and the Evolv Men's Kronos Climbing Shoe feels right and comfortable on each pitch. This unlined shoe uses a single strap that gives a surprisingly snug fit, and its strong Synthratek VX upper conforms to your foot shape for a comfortable feel. The full-length midsole helps you edge up Levitation's crimpy crux pitch, and the VTR rand keeps the Trax high friction rubber sole solid for days at the gym.

    Comfort is key

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Comfort was the deciding factor for me investing in these moderately aggressive shoes.

I climb 2-3 times in an indoor gym for 3ish hour sessions. loved the lacing system- easy to take on and off ( although I'd never take them off my whole climb= super comfy... they smelled like death afterwards), . I'm a 8.5 street shoe and bought a full size up 9.5 for the Kronos. My foot is slightly bit narrow so the strap at the toes went over the velcro side when tightened. The tongue is soft on the top of my foot- it may get bunched when tightened, but it can be adjusted so no biggie. I didn't feel much strech either.

Performance: Great for toe hooks and smearing. The heel wasn't that great for me with my narrow heel. It was a slightly loose and I felt it slip as i was doing heel hooks. Edging was not bad. I've been using them since December and the rand on the toes started getting damaged after 5.5 months. When I first bought these in December I was climbing v3-5ish, now I'm a v4-7ish. I would need to resole, but honestly I'm ready to get a more aggressive shoe.

If you want a super comfortable shoe and want an upgrade from your starter, this is the one!

    Good all-around shoe

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 9.5
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 165lbs

I've had my pair for about a year now, climbing indoors 2-3 times per week, with weekends outdoors. Only had to resole once so far due to my toes wearing out. The velcro still sticks for the most part, as long as I fasten it right the first time it usually won't come off. I've been wearing these the most out of my 3 evolv shoes due to the balance of comfort & performance (laced luchs and shamans are my others).

They didn't stretch much at all, maybe 1/4-1/8 a size. I bought a 9.5 off steep&cheap - my street shoe is also a 9.5 in Adidas/Puma (I can wear 9s but they cramp my toes).

This fit true to street size for me, they're a tad tight, but I can wear them in the gym and only have to take them off for short breaks every hour or so. I could fit in 9s, but wouldn't be able to wear them for more than 10 minutes at a time.

The heel doesn't work so well for me as it digs into my Achilles when I try, but the smearing ability of this shoe is pretty good.

    Less stinky? But still stink!!!

Well, I demo'd some 11s and I wear a size 10.5 street and same in Asyms (aggressive), and I couldn't even put them on. So, can't comment on anything but Evolv's determination to lie to me about sizing. I've had so much bad luck with climbing shoes lately, I don't know what these company's do all day. Seriously, shoes sizing is not a new science, we should be able to measure Xmm sole length and get that. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

    Excellent all around shoes

Great shoes for a wide variety of climbings. Gym bouldering, rock bouldering and rock climbing. Excelent fit out of the box, but you should know evolv sizing to achieve so. I wear a size up.
I love te practicity an functionality of the closure system.
Durability is also great, i've been using them as my only climbing shoes for almost an year, 2-3 times per week for gym bouldering, 1 visit to the rock per month, and they have no sign of wear, and they perform better than new.
They have strecht almost nothing but i think i could reduce half a size to reach my perfect fit, more based en my climbing ability evolution than in the behaiviour of the shoe.
Last line, i do not take them off for hours at the gym as they are really comfortable shoes. I do take them off between pitches or climbs at the rock, just to postpone wearing them off.

    Solid Shoe, Runs Small

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small

Starting to get into climbing and got to demo these a few times in the gym. Really like the velcro closure on them and the rubber is grippy enough for the type of climbing I used them for. Slightly narrow in the toe box. Biggest thing to keep in mind is the sizing on these. I'm usually a size 10 shoe and had to go with the 11s in these. I recommend trying out a full size or a size and a half up. If you have any questions on these shoes or sizing with any other climbing shoes please reach out and I'd be happy to help!

    Awesome while they last

I bought these about 6 weeks ago and the sole has selevated about inch along the toe. These shoes were onlyou saw 8 days of granite the rest were gym days. Awesome after break in but don't last especially considering the price

    Great no-nonsense climbing shoe

This is my second pair of Evolv's; the first being the Defy's I bought when I first started climbing about 10 years ago. The rubber is firm and sticky. They edge well, but don't smear as well as some of my stickier shoes. It is all a trade off as these will certainly last longer. I have been wearing them for two indoor sessions a week for the past month.

The velco closure is a nice upgrade from more basic designs that allows you to fine tune where the tension is. By pulling the top strap across and forward I can get more tension in the arch.

The rubber patch on the toe allows for better camming and will prevent wearing through the top quickly.

Runs true to Evolv sizing; which is to say they run small. My street shoes (Nike) are size 8, Bed Rock Sandals are size 8, Red Wing boots are size 7.5, but in Evolv climbing shoes I wear a 9 and they are very snug at that. Honestly probably should have gone up to 9.5.

    Great no-nonsense climbing shoe

    Great shoes

Great shoes. The rubber is solid and works great for both gyms and real rock. I have mainly used them at the crag. They handle cracks really well due to the rubber on the toe box. They are a little narrow which works fine for me but might not work for others. The Velcro system works well.

    So far so good

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Bought these as a gift and Ive been told theyre a major upgrade from their old shoes. Comfortable, great edging, rubber top for better toe hooking, not much more theyre asking for.
