    A trad climber's dream.

From the slabby boulders at Joshua Tree to the multipitches at Red Rocks, the Evolv Axiom Climbing Shoe excels on practically any trad route you throw it on. A flat and low profile with a standard asymmetric curvature makes this shoe excellent on face climbs, slabby sections, and cracks. Leather encompasses the majority of the shoe for comfort and breathability, and synthetic leather above the arch and heel offers more support for steeper sections. Evolv added 3/4 speed laces for easy on and off in between pitches, and the unique tongue lock system positions the tongue perfectly every time you put it on.

Microfiber lines the front half of the Axiom for extra comfort and support, which you appreciate on long days on big walls. Evolv integrated an MX-P midsole in size 9 shoes and up in order to keep the shoe sturdy and rigid enough for vertical face climbs. A VTR rand in the toe increases the shoe's longevity, and an extra rand in the arch increases the tension across your foot for a sturdy, stiff last that helps you work through technical edges with ease. And the Trax rubber sole offers the high friction you'd expect out of Evolv's proprietary rubber.

    Good All Around Shoe

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 9.5 (I ordered a full size up)

I bought these shoes for climbing outdoors and as a back-up, non-aggressive gym shoe. These shoes are nicely covered in the thick rubber Evolv tends to use so they will wear more slowly than other shoes but won't be as sensitive.

One issue I've encountered is that the shoe digs into the back of my heel which made extended climbs less comfortable. The shoes aren't fully broken in yet so it's possible this will resolve.

I would definitely recommend these for beginners or anyone looking for a good all-around shoe.

    Rubber doesnt stretch

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 10.5

I had to resell these shoes. Everyone says they are very small. I ordered plenty larger than I should have needed to. These cut up my big toe, I thought because it healed wrong after a break. I had my sister try on the shoes as we are similar sized but she has a narrower foot. They are SUPER small. Do not buy unless you have tried them on in person.

Like everyone else says, they run SMALL

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small

Ordered for my girlfriend, she normally wears a women's 7.5, since they are men's sizes we started with a 6.5 (8W), too small to even put on. Sent those back and ordered a 7.5 (9W), closer but still too small. Not only that, but the shoes from the 7.5 pair were noticeably different sizes. I ordered and returned a pair of evolv Luchador lace ups and noticed the same defect. What is up with that?!

Any way, if you're lucky enough to get a pair that fit, i would imagine they will be great shoes. If you lack patience, i would recommend looking elsewhere.

    Love the shoe! But Small.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 10.5

I love this shoe sticks well on plastic and quartzite. When I buy a new pair it will be a half size larger. I wouldn't say they run small, its that the toe pocket is a tad tight for my big toe. My actual street shoe size is 11/11.5 depending on the make.So the same holds true when i buy climbing shoes, 10.5/11 is the range for me. As for the quality I can't complain. The leather and laces have held up great. The rand and sole wear no faster than any of my other climbing shoes. I feel they stick as good as my Miura VS shoes.

    Love the shoe! But Small.

    Too small

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small

I usually wear a size 7.5 women's street shoe. Based on reviews for this product, I ordered a size 7.5 (since they are men's sizes). It was still too small, at least for a beginner like myself. My feet fit into the shoe, just barely; but my toes curled a lot, and the back felt like it was cutting into my heel (maybe it's supposed to do that...?). Point is, I'm returning them. Maybe they would've worked if I had ordered an 8 or 8.5. Besides this, they seem like decent shoes

    Great shoe! Runs very small

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 13

I have been climbing with this shoe for about 6 months now and I love the stickiness and comfort. I found it on sale so it was a great buy at $60. I wear and 11 and I had to order two sizes up and the 13 fit snugly well which is what you want in a climbing shoe. It smears well on the stone we have here in TN.

    Very Small

I was careful to order the right size, but these are incredibly small. They are a full inch shorter than anything else I own that is the same size. I cannot even get my foot into it. I cannot understand how this happened.

    Very Small

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 12

I ordered the shoe a size smaller than my tennis shoe size. I usually climb in gym shoes so I thought I knew what size to order, but when these arrived I couldn't even fit my foot into them. I know they will stretch with time but I can't even wear them.

Classic fit, great for Trad and GYM

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 9.5

Low profile toe box makes great for crack climbing - but the slightly asymmetrical construction gives it a great natural and precise feel when edging and moving from foothold to foothold.

Super comfortable leather upper - stretches about quarter to half size so down size a little on this one, but even as the shoe starts to break in (gets more comfortable) you can adjust the fit by adjusting the lacing tension.

    Awesome, low priced shoe!
