Great lightweight and compact tent
This tent is awesome, it packs down small and is lightweight for backpacking. Perfectly fits 3 people inside. Easy to set up, kept the rain out.

Great tent but with some problems.
I have had this tent for almost a month and have been generally pleased with the item. There is one issue that appears to be a design defect. The stitching that joins the rain fly/vestibule anchor loops to the rain fly itself on each side rip loose at the slightest pull. This starts a tear running horizontally along the bottom of the rain fly. I had to repair it in the field and figured that it wasn't worth returning the item for replacement since it would probably rip again the same way. I would not buy this tent without stronger stitching to anchor these side loops.

Nice Lightweight Tent
I recently used my tent on a 2 night bike trip. I noticed it was not as robust as my previous tent but it only weighed half as much so there is a tradeoff there. It performed well but we did not have any storms or rain. I strongly recommend the model with 2 doors as we are older and get up a few times every night. The rainfly has some plastic hooks that attach to the main tent and these look really cheap although we had no issue on our only outing. The biggest complaint is the missing 4 stakes. These should be included for 189 bucks. If they were not needed you would not have attached the loops on the rainfly and provided the strings.

Cannot rate this a six or 10 but would like to!
This weekend was our first trip with my Suma 3 and Suma 2, purchased last year. (work, ugh! prevented me using it earlier). I took my daughter inlaw and 2 grandchildren ages 6 and 10, to the Lake Meredith National Recreation Area for the weekend and to do a gear test before I make some backpacking trips later this summer. The weather was forecast 80 F days and 45 F nights. What we did not figure in was the wind. I'd read the reviews of how well these tents do in adverse weather (why I bought them) but I was BLOWN AWAY (in a good way!) by these tents. We had sustained 35MPH winds with 55-60 mile gusts ALL NIGHT AND ALL DAY. We were at Fritch Fortress on the cliff side of the lake and so we got no mercy from the winds whatsoever ....EXCEPT INSIDE THESE BEAUTIFUL PRODUCTS. We played cards, we read stories, we read books, we slept like (well as best as anyone could in such winds). We are in a terrible drought here in Texas so I can't attest to the rain worthiness of these tents yet. NO TEARS. NO ZIPPER FAILS, NO POLE BREAKAGE AND EVEN THE ALUMINUM STAKES (IMHO THE WEAKEST PART OF THESE) DID NOT PULL UP. THEY DID BEND SOMEWHAT BUT THEY STAYED. Additionally the tents were WARM. These are not 4 season tents and the temps didn't get below 40 but the wind chills were 10 to 14 degrees. Thank you for making a wonderful, reasonably priced product. I look forward to many more years of camping with Eureka.

Off to a rough start...
Have been using a Eureka Apex 2xt for the last 10 years or so. When my son needed a tent for scouts I started looking at Eureka tents first. Tent is easy to set up, fairly light, and spacious. Unfortunately, on our first campout with it, the binding from the edge of the rainfly separated when we were staking it out. I have contacted Eureka Customer Service and have initiated the warranty inspection / review process. Depending on how that goes I'll revise this review as necessary

Issues with zipper
This tent has some issues with the mesh/zipper connection. The seam along the zipper ripped on our second outing and I am disappointed to see other customers report the same issue. This is obviously a production fault.

Low weight, fair price, but lousy doors and clips.
I wanted a light weight tent for canoeing and the Suma 3 seemed perfect, especially for the portages. It packs small and is roomy once set up. My wife and I along with our Black Lab fit comfortably. It has many features of a high end tent including quick clips, velcro attachments for fly to poles, and extra rigging for high wind. I really hate the doors. In bug season, getting in and out has to happen quick. The opening to the door is on the left side where the permanent part of the fly vestibule is. I have to open door most of the way to get in and travel in a "Z" pattern. For set up, it is all clips holding the poles. Hard for 1 person to set up. Why not put some sleeve for the pole to go through? During set up, when standing the poles up once in their grommets, the poles have to be held by one hand while clipping with the other. In other tents I have had (30 years of canoeing), the best ones have had sleeves which hold the tent up once the poles are set. Some design changes could make this the perfect tent.

Poor Manufacturing
I am a 35 year Eureka tent costumer and I just bought 2 of the Suma 3 tents. My family used them twice on different trips. The first trip the poles broke in 5 different places in wind that was not very strong. Weather forecast was for 15mph. Eureka replaced the poles but did nothing about the fly that ripped when the poles broke. The second trip the screen around the doors ripped on both tents in the same spot. Eureka fixed the tears still did nothing about the fly with holes and told me the tears were my fault. I am very disappointed in the quality of this product and the way it was handled. Will probably not be buying Eureka again.

Great Tent
Easy setup and teardown. First time used it in tremendous thunderstorm and tent stayed in place and very dry. Works as a tent should

Lots of room for a lightweight
This is an excellent tent for the money. I have a 28" x 78" cot and large wide air mattress that fit fine. Looking forward to using this on upcoming motorcycle camping trips. My second Eureka tent as as with the first one, not a bit disappointed. Lots of space and headroom.
