Why We Like The Northern Breeze 12

Between hikes and campfires, we need a space to gather at the campsite, and this sizable shelter is the ideal spot. The Northern Breeze 12 is a cabin-style screen room that's easy to set up, protective against weather and bugs, and spacious enough for the whole gang. The mesh sidewalls and ventilated peak offer comfortable airflow without letting mosquitos and other critters in, and the rain-repelling curtains convert into an awning in agreeable conditions.

Nice design....But

We really loved the design of the Northern Breeze 12 Screen Room. The 12 x 12 model has plenty of room and some nice features. It has doors on both sides so you can open both for a nice breeze, and shade which is great for a hot day. The sides can all be completely covered for cool nights, or opened with screen for protection from bugs (even noseeums). Setup is easy for 2 but I can set it up by myself. You can even put the doors up as a canopy. We really love this screen room, it looks good and is real versatile. One big issue, otherwise 5 stars for sure. It just hasn't held up, after about 1 1/2 years we have lots of issues with durability. We use the screen room in Florida in the Winter where it does get breezy and lots of sunshine. From the wind, the elastic connections at the top corners broke ( 3 of 4). Three of the clip straps came off, I had to sew new ones on. The side material (not the roof) started dry rotting already. We have lost a complete side, and 1 door panel. The rest has many tares I have taped to try get a little more use before we discard it.

Great for family gatherings / outdoor lunch in NoMi.

Kept the bugs out and kept all the family (extended) dry, bug free (mosquitos and gnats), and made a great prep space for meals... as well as a great sitting spot when the bugs or drizzling rain came through.

The best shelter tent

This is an absolutely bomb proof shelter. The ONLY weak point with this is the canopy and the poles. It would be awesome if the poles for the canopy were adjustable so that when it rains the can just be adjusted downward. We left camp to go for a hike and got a random rain storm we weren't expecting and left the canopy up. We came back to the center pole snapped in half at one of the joints. We didn't get very much rain, but the canopy holds water because it's waterproof (a good thing!). We splined it with some sticks and Gorilla Tape for the rest of our camping trip and that worked ok. We just had to drop the canopy down every single time we walked away from camp in case it rained, which is kind of annoying. The canopy held up to 50mph winds one night too without issue. We get a handful of drips along the backside of the tent during heavy rain, but overall I am very pleased with the tent minus the snapped pole the 2nd day.

Unbelievable Warmth Retention, Bug Protection, and Durability

Used this bad boy on a week-long steelhead fishing trip in Hells Canyon this year on a sand bar below the Salmon River mouth. This beast kept the tons of flies and blue gnats at bay. In the evenings when it would drop near freezing and the wind picked up, we could close the walls in and run a propane heater on the inside. Super warm!! 100% worth the money if you're looking for a buy-once, cry-once shelter!

Very bad expérience!

I bought a northern Breeze 10 screen tent june 29 2023 and went camping for few days , very happy and sure that I will be very fine. But unfortunately we had a storm and a lot of rain ( 55 mm of rain per hour for a couple of hour ) and then all day and a half. The tent was licking inside by the loop and on the seams. Very disappointed considering the reputation of Eureka!

Good features, but disappointing quality

We like the virtually infinite ways you can configure this screen house, and our 12x12 has plenty of room for picnic table and lots of folks when we need to huddle. We've had the Northern Breeze for exactly one year, and been on about ten car camping trips with it. Already we've had a failure in one of the elastic loops that holds up the roof corner, and the waterproofing is beginning to fail. For the rather large amount we paid (more than our actual tent), I expected a reliable piece of gear that would last years. One other annoying feature to note for future design: the bandolier-style cross strap on the carry bag is frustrating to deal with. It gets in the way when you're trying to put your screen house in the bag.

Not impressed with build quality

We Just purchased the Northern Breeze 12 and used it for the first time this memorial day weekend. One of the poles came apart upon disassembly and a few seams are questionable in their quality. Not sure the quality meets the price point. Pretty disappointed unfortunately

Northern Breeze 12

Ordered and received my Northern Breeze 12. The out of box experience was good. Open the bag unpacked all the contents. Read and reviewed the set up instructions. Very easy. I must admit. After the layout of the shelter on the ground set up the center link I needed the assistance of my wife. Overall this is a great product.
