Great tent for adventuring

I loved this tent on my trip to Havasupai this summer. Lightweight but not too small. My only complaint is the door setup with the rainfly on an angle. I understand why it's designed that way, but it makes getting in and out of of the tent somewhat difficult/clumsy.

Amazing tent, super simple to set up and reasonably light. For the price of this tent, I don’t think you can get a better one. You can easily fit a twin sized air mattress for car camping or two people on small pads for backpacking. Took it bike packing on my dirtbike multiple times and it fit well on the outside of my saddlebags and I had plenty of room to sleep comfortably.

I use as a single-man/adult tent. Light enough for backpacking, but not ultralight. Easy setup. Good durability.

Perfect lil' tent

A really great little light weight tent for 1-2 humans. Really great for hot summer nights if canoe or short-distance hiking. Car camping of course, but maybe a bit heavy for a longer multi-day hike.

Midori 2person

Kept me dry in a torrential downpour on the first weekend I took it out! Easy to set up.

Awesome tent but fragile mesh

I bought this tent 3yrs ago now, during the last trip of the season last year I noticed the mesh on the sealing ripped near the seam. I really loved the tent and how easy it was to set up. I'm a little disappointed as this is my first "entry level premium tent" and expected a little more durability and longevity out of it.

Midori review

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I just got back from 2 weeks in Panama camping with the Midori 2's (we had 4). I'm fairly certain it's the best warm weather tent available today. Its full mesh tent design is perfect for hot buggy places. I was a great fan of the Spitfire 2 and this is better - roomier, easier to put up and I think sturdier. The fly works well if it does rain. My only recommendation would be to make it easier to "roll up" the fly so you can keep it out of the way unless a tropical storm does roll through. It's a lot of tent for the money and if you are going somewhere hot - the best.

Great tent

Familiarity:

I love this little tent. The full mesh body makes it feel larger inside than it really is because the walls are not closing in on you. The yellow is bright, so it is easy to spot if you wander a little far from camp (the green is a bit softer than the picture, not a bright kelly green). I was surprised when I set it up because the end by the feet is smaller than the end by the head. I am all about cutting unnecessary weight, so I don't mind, but I said the size runs small because of this. It also creates a unique shape overall because the overhead bar is not set directly in the center like most tents. Even so, we did not notice once we were inside. We fit two people without feeling crowded and still had room at our feet to put some stuff. The tent is very easy to set up, but you do have to line it up correctly since the size changes from one end to the other. The poles and hooking straps are color-coded, so this is not a problem. I haven't taken this out on a full backpacking trip yet, but using it in the campground has worked very well. The seams are sealed well and we didn't have any issues with rain. Eureka has also worked great for us in the past!

My favorite tent

I bought this for solo camping adventures, and it's probably my best gear purchase I've ever made - it works for the beginning car camper and would absolutely be suitable for 2 people in the backcountry, and basically anyone in between. It's easy to set up and take down by myself, has a great ventilation system for hot nights, but holds up amazingly in rain and wind. I love the amount of storage it has for an otherwise-compact tent, between the interior pockets and the dual vestibules. I've taken this (and its bigger sibling, the Midori 3) all over the Midwest and West and have not run into a single issue with the tent itself thus far. The only two gripes I have is that 1.) the stakes that come with it are not great and bend at the slightest push, and 2.) I wish the footprint came with the tent. However, those were quick and relatively inexpensive purchases to remedy, so it's far from a huge deal. Literally could not recommend this tent more!
