A palatial home for a family or bunkhouse for a group in the wild.
Unlike the last time, the hijinks will be kept to a minimum on this year's Cub Scouts camping trip because you brought along the Eureka Copper Canyon 12 Tent, which handles twelve campers with ease. There will be no mysterious whispers, screams, and thumping outside your tent (at least not until after you fall asleep) when the whole pack is sleeping under one roof; and should they get too annoying you can always push them over to one side of the tent and drop the dividing wall for some sanity-preserving privacy.
- Vertical walls make the best use of interior space, while 7-foot standing space allows for plenty of headroom
- A removable divider curtain allows for one room or two, and two side-opening D-style doors provide private entry into each room
- Windows on each side enhance visibility and ventilation; include ‘quick stash’ feature that eliminates the need for fabric ties or loops/toggles
- Full mesh roof allows air circulation and reduces condensation
- 75D StormShield polyester fly includes pockets to store storm guy-outs and lines when not in use
- E! Power Port lets you bring electrical power cord inside tend through dedicated zippered port
- Two gear lofts and multiple interior pockets organize small items
- Item #ERK0131

Great tent with easy set-up!
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I've had this tent for a year. We just got back from Moab and Arches National Park. We used the tent again for a total of about 13 nights since we got it. It's easy for 1 or 2 people to set up. The mesh roof and large mess windows make it awesome for seeing the starts and sunrise on clear, dry nights. No leaking in a heavy rainstorm with high winds. It's like car camping in your own condo. We love it! Eureka backs their tents for life. I had the wind break some poles on another Eureka Tent that I'd had for 20 years. To my surprise, they replaced them with no charge and no questions. A quality company and Tent.
This tent is big! I have the 4 person tent in this series and was really pleased with the ease of set up and the quality. We recently went camping in Williams, AZ. The first night was a down pour for three hours. We stayed completely dry. We decided to go with a bigger tent because the 4 person tent was very very tight with a 1 year old. There is plenty of space for his pack-n-play and to play in the 12 person tent. The ease of set up is true for the 12 person tent as well. I am also pleased with the customer service of Backcountry. It seems they will not lose a customer over price. Thank you Backcountry!!!
Eureka Copper Canyon
Awesome Family Tent
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I decided to surprise my wife with a family tent she'd been hinting on for a long time. The features of this Eureka where a great match in terms of what we were looking for, based on the positive reviews on this tent and my personal experience with another Eureka tent purchased some 20 years ago (still in service) I decided this was the one. While it was mid summer and out of stock many places, I was pleased Backcountry had it available to ship; as I've never had a problem with them in terms of price or shipping.
The tent is very roomy and robustly constructed. All seams throughout are taped; I went over the seams from the outside with sealer and had no issues on a week long camp trip this summer. The last evening of the trip it was a complete downpour / electrical storm...the tent didn't budge and stayed dry despite a significant amount of water that had run underneath it as we were camped on a slight incline. The pole layout is very easy to figure out, we practiced setup at home averaging 15 minutes from bag to staking.
It comes with a nice bag, but I ended up using a larger canvas duffle I had laying around...this tent is on the heavy side and found it more comfortable/easier to pack and carry that way.
