An upgrade for riding up grades.

The geniuses at e*thirteen Components have done it again, it's created a plug-and-play upgrade kit that takes your existing GX through XX1 1x11 SRAM mountain group and boosts its range with the TRS Plus 12 Speed Upgrade Kit. What's so unique and amazing about this group is it allows you to make the move to 12-speed while utilizing your existing crank, chainring, shifter, and derailleur. For much less than the price of just an X01 Eagle 12-speed cassette, you'll be 12-speed ready and it comes in at a lighter weight to boot.

Everything you need to complete the modification comes with the kit which includes the TRS Plus 9-46 tooth 12-speed cassette, 12-speed chain, replacement parts for your shifter and derailleur, and all the necessary tools. The TRS Plus 12 Speed Cassette offers an incredible 511%, versus Eagle's 500%, range, while also allowing for a straighter chainline that provides better performance and less wear. It takes around 30 minutes to install and once out on the trail, the shifting feels just as crisp as a full SRAM 12-speed group.

    • Upgrade your 11-speed 1x11 drivetrain to 12-speeds
    • Uses existing shifter and derailleur with a new cassette and chain
    • All small parts and tools are included
    • Cassette has an impressive 511% range
    • The setup additionally offers a better chainline, is lighter, and is less expensive than SRAM's offerings
    • Item #ETR001P

    Nice alternative

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have been eying this cassette for a while and when I began to build up my new Yeti SB150 - I had to put this on. It is a nice alternative to gain some range and lose some weight from a GX cassette and some cash and weight from and XO1 cassette. Couple other things that are nice and worth pointing out: installation is super easy and I really like that it does not thread on thus avoiding any cross threading of your XD driver, with the correct B tension I have had flawless shifting so far this spring. Would definitely recommend this to anyone.
    Couple notes:
I bought this kit for my 12-speed drive train - so I do not have experience with the shifter and derailleur conversion - yet.
be sure that the interface between the 2 parts of the cassette remain greased as there is metal to metal contact there and the cassette can make some noise - so check periodically.
You will need a traditional chain whip or cassette pliers that can open pretty wide to remove the harder gears from the easier ones.

    Great Alternative to Eagle

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Bought this kit recently to upgrade my 11 speed X01 group to 12 speed. Was going to try GX but wasn't down with the extra weight. The shifter and derailleur modification were straightforward and the online video E13 provides helped a lot. I've been on this setup for a few weeks now and it works great! Shifting is crisp and precise. My friend also got the kit to use the cassette and chain as a replacement for his Eagle cassette and loves the slightly tighter gear jumps. 5 stars so far!

    Barely works.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Shifting is terrible especially the smallest 2 gears. Marginal shifting onto the largest gear. The rest of the gears work ok.

SRAM GX I installed on my wife's bike works flawlessly.

    Pretty legit so far

Picked this up last week and upgraded my 11 spd. XX1. Everything has been pretty solid so far! Stay tuned for more updates. (the cassette is seriously light.)

Update! A couple of weeks in now, and I'm still very happy. The shift feel is a little more Shimano-esq, maybe? I've been impressed with how smooth the drivetrain runs, and I'm ready to bump up a chainring size with the introduction of the 46 tooth cog! I can wholeheartedly recommend this kit, for now.
