SR Pro Saddle
As their name implies, Ergon is known for making ergonomically-focused cockpit components for mountain bikes. The SR Pro Men's Saddle expands their expertise to the road side of things, and is designed to complement the male anatomy in the low, forward-tilted riding position that's typical for road cycling. Made with a flat shape, supportive padding, and a deep relief channel for the perineum region, the SR Pro Saddle brings comfort to your rides day in and day out. And while it's not quite as lightweight as Ergon's top-level SR Pro Carbon Saddle, the SR Pro offers the same beneficial features but with sturdy TiNox rails instead of carbon fiber.
Due to their specific pelvic anatomy, men generally sit more upright on the saddle. This creates a higher pressure in the perineum area, which can lead to discomfort, numbness, and in some cases considerable pain. Ergon addresses this issue by incorporating a deep relief channel with a cut-out, helping to focus the pressure back onto the sit bones and part of the pubic blades. And to ensure comfort for these bony structures, Ergon incorporates Orthopedic AirCell Foam with OrthoCell Padded Inlays for the best possible pressure distribution in these areas.
- A road saddle designed specifically for male riders
- Pressure relief channel alleviates perineal discomfort

Favorite saddle
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Saddles are personal and subjective, but after trying 5+ saddles from other brands, ergon is the most comfortable hands down. I forget the seat is there, very good sit bone support. Zero numbness or pressure. I like to move around the saddle and the nose is rigid enough to handle short and hard efforts. I have this saddle on my road and gravel bike, I’ll being picking up the SM for mtb as well.

Cool saddle but wasn't right for me
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
It seems to be well made and the cutout was nice as with the taper it didn't make for two sharp points the way that some do. But I did have to send it back right away as soon as I sat on it I found the more square sides to be a bit too square for me. I like more of a curve on the sides.

Saddle Nirvana

- I've put it through the wringer
For me, this saddle has been nothing short of a revelation. I've been cycling for 11 years, and have always had saddle issues. Over the years I have tried many saddles with varying success rates. Some of the saddles I have tried over the years are Selle Italia SLR Gel Flow, Fizik Aliante, Fizik Aliante VS (1st generation), Fabric Scoop Shallow, Fabric Scoop Radius, Fabric Line, Specialized Power. The best result that I had achieved prior to the Ergon SR was mild post-ride soreness but with numbness during the ride. Some saddles brutalized me to the point where I couldn't ride for weeks after. I happened to get my hands on a pre-production sample of the Ergon SR Pro, so have now had many months of riding on it. It's not an exaggeration for me to say this has fundamentally changed my cycling. I had to wait impatiently for this saddle to actually be released so that I could buy additional ones to outfit my other bikes. I now have both the Pro and Pro Carbon versions. While I would have been willing to accept any weight penalty for this level of comfort, it's even more amazing to me that these also satisfy my inner weight weenie weighing in at 215g for the Pro and 182g for the Pro Carbon in the small/medium size. I fully intend to buy several spares to have "in stock" just in case this saddle should be discontinued for some reason. For the record, I am 6' (183cm) and 176lbs (80kg).

Hi, Mark. Is there any difference between Pro and Pro Carbon, beside the rails?
